There is a previous post on Kryo's mod. Someone sent in a batch file upgrade to copy and save through Notepad/Wordpad that you run instead of the original batch file. I've done it and everything works fine. I don't remember right off which post it is but it was soon after TA's release. And yes, I'm running Vista with no problems. I hope this helps!

The bundle you dl'd was probably set on the server prior to the update. At a later point in time they might update the bundle, but many will have one or more updates immediately available depending on when they purchase and dl. This is not anything abnormal / unusual.
It sounds like a system lag; either the main processor or the video card processor. I would sooner believe the later. The computer would 'capture' the mouse sensing in advance; like holding down a key long enough that it starts repeating. Even when you stop the system already has a much longer list on direction from the mouse that the game and video card has to catch up. About the only way to remedy this is either tweak your system as much as possible for graphics processing or get a newer/large
I was wondering why TA doesn't pick up the added race portraist and logos that we've added through GC2 and DA? Is there some setting I need to change, or XML edit to do?
I'm running Vista. I also went in and unchecked anything that was listed as "string not found" and have had no problems as yet.
I can't say for sure but I believe I read before that this is not completely emplimented yet. Should be in full with the final release of ToA. Others have had similar situations like yours.
GC2 & DA have run fine on my widescreen. I'm only 1440 x 900 but have had no problems with it running at that setting. Even set it up in the options of the program.
You need to build up you spies under your spending screen. When you get spies, instead of puting them out on other worlds you use them to eleminate your opposition spies on your worlds. It's a bit of a catch-22; create spies to do it to them or create spies to eleminate theirs. So far it's the primary way to get rid of them. If you have the race and technology to gain counter-espionage centers they will keep your opponents at bay so you can use yours against them.
I might be able to help!? First one: it won't matter as far as the demo, you should be able to remove it since it should be in a different subfolder than the main program. The gold edition and dark avatar icons will remain, unless you just remove them from the desktop. They are both part of the core program. Expansions add to the base game, they don't install completely seperate. So if you do a fresh install you will be simply reinstalling GC2 and DA, then adding TotA. So I would only t
As far as templates: If you create an initial design, then make changes to it through the "upgrade" option in the shipyard, the program automatically saves a copy of the initial ship design under the templates folder. I think it would be better to have it as an option rather than wonder how to do it. Maybe SD will consider this?
Yes, Vista is your primary choice on 64bit OS. XP (even pro) is an early attempt at 64bit but does not fully address it. Vista 64bit is their first true 64bit OS.
As Moosetek13 pointed out is true. While a 64bit OS will access and control more than 2GB memory, that does not mean a program will. GC2 is not directly native to 64bit systems so it will only use the first 2GB. The OS will use the rest for Virtual Memory (though with 128GB you wouldn't need it). So the only thing is to save often, and probably take regular breaks from play entirely. I've already got a high-end system (not 128GB though) and it's the only way to get through a game.
Many of you have good points. But many more bad, falisied points. The worst is the aspect of perceived intelligence level and subculture seperation. One of the biggest problems with going along with these perceptions is that the ones creating and pushing them are the ones who's families are long time (multi-generation) power mongers. Just because the family background is great, and their families have the most wealth in the world, does not mean that they are the intellectual leaders to make such
Does anyone have the Ultimate SciFi Mod that would be willing to forward the file(s) to me? I can't get any response from the host sight to get on and dl! If anyone could, please forward it to my email below. Thanks! [email protected]
One of the biggest issues with laptops of any type is they generate as much heat or more than a standard computer. Combined with a much smaller case and less means for airflow, they can have these problems with quite a variety of programs; not just games. The best thing to do is to look into a cooling system. There are several out now that work extremely well. I general recommend to my laptop customers one of two actual ultra thin fan types that the laptop sits on. Very light weight, and no disc
I've had no problems with Vista. Been running this on it since a month after Vista's release. Do make sure of your settings (as Kryo noted the 'old' tab), some choices will work better than others under Vista.
Renfl, Signed up with the host source, but said I had to be approved before full access. Could you check with them and see what the delay is, since I did this several days ago!? I would appreciate any help. Looking forward to trying this one out! Thanks!
Thanks Kryo! I did that and it showed up. Dl'd fine, works fine so far. As far as BrynnX I can't say what might be the problem on his end. Hope he can get it worked out. Thanks again for the help from the staff!
CariElf, I've preordered and dl'd the previous beta. Went to Stardock and Beta 4 is not showing up!? Is there something I've missed? Please check this for me and let me know when possible. I'ld like to try it as well like others already have. Thanks for all your, and the team's hard work!
Personally, I use Avast. It covers the full gambit (spyware notification and ellimination too), and it's free. It'll update for you automatically, or by notice and choosing to. It has picked up more stuff than any of the to brands put together. Give it a try and see what you get! avast.com
Don't click on the file itself, open up Windows Notepad and open it in there and everything in it will show.
I-Mod-Productions hosts one initial package that the Excelsior class in parts. Further models are being created but haven't been released as yet. I've used this current several times already. http://www.i-mod-productions.com/
Not to mention that gets into planetary bombardment; which the devs are going into!
I can see this being done. You could design ship that be along the bases of SG1 Ori ships. Using one as a power source; or at least to represent one. The only aspect is whether they are scalable through the ship designer? If nothing special has to be done all you have to do is copy they star images into a mod folder, rename them slightly, and create a small xml file to put in the mod data folder to call them up; preseto! I've done this with other images out of the original game folders.
