Wow, some good advice here!

I am sure this has been asked before and the answer might be somewhere. If so, I am sorry. I want to know if there is a way to get the game to play itself with no human player and it can be paused and we can look around and watch it? Thanks in advance.
Traxas, Oh I would try it that is for certain!
the only multiplayer that makes the most sense for a game like this is play-by-e-mail (PBEM). I have played several games over the years of Space Empires III in that fashion. But , there are some drawbacks to that: 1. I think the developer tends to rely on the PBEM/multiplayer feature to carry the game and the AI ends up being crap. Case in point is Space Empires 3. 2. Games that could have been enjoyed over a few days or weeks can take months and as you said, years to
to original poster, what type of MP would you want? Hotseat, EMAIL based? Surely you would not want to sit there for hours on end playing against a group of people online.
I suspect the release package is already built. Just waiting until end of day to throw it out there and call it a week, it is just a beta.
You wont see it until 1.2. Typo by Frogboy Ah. I can understand that, very well thanks!
It is in v1.11 already. Not much AI uses it currently but it gets enhanced over time. Is it an option somewhere as you mentioned a while back? Sorry if I'm missing something, but i looked through the option and setup screens of 1.11 and couldn't see it. I cannot find it either.... I must be blind. Thanks
Something was mentioned an update ago or so. Something to the effect of there being a new option to configure the AI to spend more time taking its' turn or running in the background? What ever happened with that? Or am I confused, which happens Thanks
Question was, would I recommend galciv2. Answer is yes I did and they ended up buying it and are all strung out on the game now. My evil plan works.......
Ugh I did not think this was such a hard question to get answered from the vendor. I reckon some day a comprehensive list will be created.
Is there a list of the new hotkeys that are in v1.1? Thanks
*bump*
In my current game, there is another race that has parked a troop transport near my world, watching and waiting a presume. Anyway, the current relationship I have with them neutral. But how do I convey to them to move along? I would do same to them they would be able to tell me that they see me doing this and do not like it (based upon what I have read). Anyway, thanks

Just to clarify, if I have a game in progress that has "custom ships" should I finish it first before loading the patch? I do not want to lose the substance of my game but if my *bling* is gone but functionally the ships capabilities are the same I do not care. Thanks
PBEM and other non-real time options are a lot more doable and wouldn't compromise the game. Multiplayer isn't particularly hard to do, but for head to head, real time play, GalCiv II wouldn't be very fun IMO. But if ther'es demand, we can do it. My opinion is this. For the many reason that Brad has already stated, the RTS and multiplayer
A is my two cents
Where is the world is the fleet button? I cannot for the life of me see it. I do have some form of logistics so I know that should not be a factor. Just blind I guess
fixed fine thanks
same here. Also attempt to load save game goes belly up as well.
thanks for the reply. My only concern with activiation is the fact that I "burned" one of my activations by installing on a work pc. What if I change jobs or laptops, will that somehow be handled? Overall not too concerned about as Stardock is a pretty fair company I think. For just playing the game once it is live will you have to have a internet connection just to get it to start? If so, THAT would be a drag.
Downloaded and installed on work laptop last night. When I ran it first time it had me activate, no problem. Downloaded and installed this morning at home computer, installed and ran fine (after it force me to update to Directx 9.0c) but it never asked me to activate it. Is that to be expected? Thanks
I uh, already find it out there and it downloaded? Just now that is.
Yes, I have been watch the development of SEV as well. I love that game as much as GalCiv, both are great stuff. If only the best of both were combined. Get both is challening, not so much a money constraint as it is a time constraint. However, I will end up buy both and trying to play both.
