Dear Stardockians, could you please think of an addition to your forum software that would allow to either make text attachments or to have limited, inflatable text sections? Some threads take ages to load and are a pain to read with all these endless debug.err files. Sincerely yours, e-stab

I upgraded from 1.6-beta3 to 1.6-beta5-test2 and I'm getting the graphical glitches now. This is how the standard Arcean colony ship looks like: AMD processor here (Athlon64 X2 4200+) and a Radeon X1950GT graphics card.
Definitely harder in my opinion. In fact, be prepared for a slug fest the first game or two while you get used to it. You may be right, in my first try my not-good-enough Arceans are likely to be overrun by jihading Altarians... Guess I'll have to read up a bit at the Core. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 align="absmiddle
A note to Evil Stormbringer and all others fed up with beta 4: There is a lesson which I had to learn the hard way in a much earlier beta version (DL 1.2 I think): Always use auto-archive when trying out beta versions. Version X+1 might actually be worse (for you) than version X. (Addendum: Don't expect beta versions to work with the Metaverse.) P.S. I'm not saying I don't see your point, but life is neither perfect nor fair. <img src="http://ima
Keeping my fingers crossed for you and your family, Purge! I just hope you won't call it Lord Kona! As for GC2, I didn't play a sandbox game with DA yet, but judging from the new AI options (the new sliders), has Suicidal become more easy compared to DL or is that a misconception? What do the grandmasters of war think about it?
any news? Seconded. I know some people that would probably buy if only it'd be available in retail. Stubborn folks, they don't like credit cards and download versions!
Change the "C:\GAMES\GALCIV2\DarkAvatar\" stuff to the location where your "GC2DarkAvatar.exe" is and you should be fine.
Dual apologies tendered here: 1. I did not intend to sound so terse - my apologies for sounding "snappish." 2. For referring to Ms Begle in the familiar - she is not a personal acquaintance and I have no right to be so disrespectful by referring to her by first name. Formis6, the best place to make up for your sins is this thread ! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmil
e-stab, Do you have the option "Move Camera to Selected Colony in Colonies List" set? Of course not - I wasn't even aware that it existed. Problem solved, my fault. The third one should be easy enough to fix. I'll have to discuss with the team about the desired behavior for #2. Thanks for acknowledging #3, and
Great to see you working on 1.6! Let me throw in three minor suggestions, mostly UI related: (1) When clicking or double-clicking a planet on the colony list, the main map was centered on it in earlier versions (IIRC). I don't know when it changed, but it's no longer the case and I think it would be useful to get that little functionality back. (2) One thing that is in the game
No problems here with FF 2.0, Mumble.
The good thing about posting is that you look really busy when you are typing. And since my monitor faces away from people entering my office I always say, "Please sit down. Let me wrap this up it is really important." If the guy in my chair right now only knew. Me thinks this is one hell of an idea! Not sure if you'll get many open comments from Stardock g
Congrats to the latest 100k/200k/500k+ scorers, and welcome aboard JustinSane4! Your nickname sounds like it'll fit our empire just right!
Take a look in the \Data\English\Campaigns folders of GC2 and DA, there you can read up about the campaign missions.
Thanks for your continued dedication... ...and for this change in particular: + NEW: The popup for adding money to negotiations on the trade screen will now open with the value needed to make the AI accept the offer (or the total amount in your treasury if they won't accept it).
Yay! My new hardware arrived! Once I'll be through the troubles of installing Windows (sic...) the galaxy will SHAKE!
But the idea of managing 900 planetary builds is headache inducing. Indeed! Currently I'm playing the DA campaign at a moderate pace just to get known to the new features - and the story, which I like. Sooner or later I'll come back to the sandbox mode, first th
As far as I know there is no central and 100% accurate source of information. The manual, the wiki and some threads here should contain most answers you could need though. Regarding your population problem, there is a population cap tied to planet quality . Unfortunately it's not documented at all in-game.
Evil, Magnum, evil! You know, it's just that guy posting his last game aeons ago... On the bright side, I'm about to get a state-of-the-art computer and thus will be able to crank up the graphics and AI options to the max. What's the latest count of habitable planets on gigantic all abundant aga
Great to see e-stab and Qestraal joining THE EMPIRE Beg your pardon? I've been a member for a year or so now.
Stardock Central's support of beta modules is still iffy. That's my keyword: I don't know how that happened, but somehow I ended up with "v1.6 beta 1 Dark Avatar" (according to the main game menu) despite not having checked the "pre-release versions" checkbox in Stardock Central. SDC says I'm running DA 1.59.078 - whatever that means.
Space is quiet and cold, remember?
Our websites support only the latest version of Firefox and Opera. We cannot support older versions. Of course I don't expect you to support older browser versions. I thought it might be a general issue with Firefox, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Strangely enough the medals always worked fine for me until recently, must have to do with one of the latest forum revisions.
Yeah, welcome Qestraal!
Good question. I never understood that either.
