Apparently this was a mistake by Stardock but didn't cause any harm other than a bit of confusion. I "upgraded" to 0.90 as well and then back to 0.81, both versions worked but I couldn't tell a difference.

Based upon my experience with GalCiv I and the last Beta, I'd like to make a suggestion. Please implement one more feature in the options menu: There already are checkboxes for "build starbase", "upgrade starbase" and "harvest resource" (which toggle the confirmation dialogs on and off), it would be nice to have another one for "confirm upgrade price" (or similar) that allows to toggle the dialog saying "installing the x module will cost y money, do yo
Ah, now I see. I only had the message when I was actively trying to send a ship further than possible, in this case it was quite obvious.
How much will the CD cost for people who own the E-Download version of Galciv2? I'd be interested in a response as well. Is there a possibility to upgrade from e-download to shipping version?
Huh? The message always refers to the ship actually selected, doesn't it?
That might be tricky since the huge excess of power might allow to kill the ennemy ship: the attacker rolls a random number between 1 and the total attack value of the kind of weapon. So you get more chance to hit (defender rolling below) and inflict more damages (difference between attacker roll and defender roll). I'm not sure to have understood you
I see a problem when a super advanced battle ship is equipped with six missile battleries, each capable of destroying a small hulled ship on it's on, only to have the ship fire all six at one target. I agree on that one. Perhaps ships should be allowed to use excess firepower (or a part of it) to shoot at t
@uglycow and all others sceptical (or worse...) about the battle system of GalCiv II: When I first heard about the tactical battle view in GalCiv II, I was very sceptical as well: "What? You can watch battles, but you can't influence their outcome? What fun could that be? I don't want to watch my ships die mindlessly!". But once having played, I think it's a very nice solution. The battles are fun to watch, and they certainly add suspense to the g
I played GalCiv I almost from the beginning and had a lot of fun with it. Yesterday I had a look at the last beta after a break of half a year or so and I must say: I'm really impressed and can only second the notion of "this can't go gold soon enough!". Unfortunately I didn't and don't have enough time helping with the beta, otherwise I'd have done so. A big thank you goes to everyone who does. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Smi
O G San: "I thought of this little vignette this week when I heard that the European Union is considering lifting its ban on arms sales to China, which was imposed following the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989." Being a German citizen I strongly disagree with the point of view of my own chancellor and his good friend Jacques Chirac that the weapons emba

"Ah yes, it's always the jews fault isn't it?" I didn't say that, nor did I want to express that. It's clearly not "the fault of the jews". This would only be another generalisation and I think we already had enough. I've been reading here since the beginning, I saw a lot of interesting and well done postings, a lot of rubbish and childish arguments as well (the upcoming election
"There's no love lost between Semites (Palestinians included) and Arabs." IMHO the Israel-Palestine conflict is THE key subject in the problems between the Western and the Arabic World anyway. The Palestinians (and the numerous arabic people expressing solidarity with them) feel treated unjust, to say the least, and are angry with Israel and the US as Israels major ally and protector. This is a primal source of hate against the US and what it
I'd really like to see "one of us" (western world) in a traditional, muslim, arabic country with the typical background, education and access (or not) to medias. I'm not sure whether revolting against the government would be our first concern... I think our primary objective should be to encourage and support the transition in these countries to more modern and open societies,
a little *bump* to bring it up again on a working day...
It would be nice to have a list of the exact effects of the chosen difficulty levels on the AI - just like the one that exists for GalCiv. Could anyone elaborate, please?
I sent you a mail.
Is there anything I can do about it, other than pray and wait for a patch? I fullfill even the recommended system requirements, my graphics card is listed as supported, but the game is unplayable for me at the moment.
I'm having the same problem as Petie Krogol: Triangles instead of states. System configuration: Windows 2000 + SP4 Radeon 9600 SE (recent drivers) DirectX 9.0c
