The galaxy called me today and I started a game (well, after doing some work, at least) - but then it kept crashing (1.1 beta version)! Must be Stardock's way of keeping me at my desk (and the computer off!). Thanks for your good wishes!

e-stab - did you have the same problems about a ship not being in a fleet that Frogboy mentions? I think so, yes. Finished the game by loading, playing 3 turns, saving, imm
Yes, some rebalancing would be a good idea.
Seconded! (I'm not sure about how social production is handled at the moment, but if it doesn't carry over yet, it should too!)
I don't think so.
I'd love to spend more time here and with GalCiv, but it's exam time for me once again. (a.k.a. All work and no play makes e-stab a dull boy. ) Next game won't be until full 1.1 for sure...
I'm currently playing on a large map with lots of planets and the game crashes quite frequently (every 5-10 turns). I had a look in the debug.err files created, but the only unusual thing I could find were a number of lines like this one: Debug Message: Destroying ship Defender M5-1 8059. Orbiting: 0 Debug Message: ERROR: Had to force clean up on dead shi
I second the idea of making the frequency of resources adjustable. They tend to have a bit too much of an influence on large maps (due to the number of occurences). Anomalies actually DO respawn, but very slowly.
This forum is not "create your own game". Even the developers themselves think a little different in this regard, I think. It's not a "Brad, do what I say" forum, but we're talking about well-founded suggestions here. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Bo
Remember that the beta is a beta and there may be bugs that keep you from finishing a game. If you only want to play and enjoy the game, don't play the beta. Yeah sure, I know. I only wanted to know whether beta games are allowed to be submitted in general. Nobody complained so I think it's okay
e-stab, I can manage all common OK, but it dies if I try abundant everything - P4 3.2Ghz, 2Gb RAM, XFX Geforce 7800 GS Extreme - so I hate to think what you actually need (got to be a dual core CPU at least). Divide your specs by two and you have mine more or less. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T
I second the idea. It wouldn't hurt anyone or need any balancing as far as I can tell. One of the strong points of Civ4 is the list of options you can activate/deactivate for game setup, it wouldn't be a mistake to borrow from there, I think.
Ok, I've already dropped Brad an email about this. The problem itself seems to be not the language-selection, but the numeric format. English notation is: 1,000.00 German notation is: 1.000,00 You can change this seperately in the language-setup in windows (it's called "Zahlen" in German Windows) try to change these settings (even with having selected German

With regards to the economic system: Have you thought about making social and military production actually carry over to the next project? (Just like it is nicely done for research, not 100% sure for social production, but military productions is definitely not carried over.)
Moving a ship onto the tile with the starbase and rally point will allow you to select and remove the rally point. Sounds like a good workaround to me!
Awesome, Brad (and team, of course!). Thanks for all that'll be in the next version! I hope a "randomize alignments" checkbox will join the new setup options in the near future, I found that to be much fun in GC1 (and finally people will see all the nice alternative texts as well! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif"
Looks good, Brad! I especially like the 14 moves battleship! I won't have time to play in the next three weeks (well, except today ), and I hope to be CRUSHED the first time then! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
You can put almost any value for screen resolution in C:\...something...\My Games\GalCiv2\Prefs.ini.
If my total score is right, just tell me and I'll shut up. But if it is not, then there's a problem in the system. Hmm, anyone?
Once you have set up a game for the Metaverse and you go to play it, does pressing ctrl-N flag it as a cheat? No. Ctrl-N and Ctrl-S (quicksave) are no cheats. In fact you can press anything as long as GC2
Either you're doing something wrong or you found a bug. You can have as many capital ships in a fleet as you want (and your logistics ability allows).
Is it just me or is the beam of the psionic beam weapon invisible? You have to be of evil alignment to be able to research it. Personally I think that the nano ripper is at least a little overpowered. It is
Capital letters look the same in the game, they're only a bit bigger if you look closely.
I think that there should be an "auto-liftoff" option for built starships just like the one that was there in GalCiv 1. You can simulate it by using a rally point right next to the planet, that's unnecessary micromanagement IMO.
