Favourite games of all time: Freespace 2 Homeworld (the original, the story was awesome!) MOO2 / GalCiv2 (similar, but different, games, that are both totally great) Half-Life 2 Lords of the Realms 1/2 (#3 is bullocks) The Stronghold series (castles!) The Total War series (Come to me, Medieval 2!!!) X-com: Apocalypse (I've played this game soooo much...) Tyrian 2000 (best vertical scroller shooter ever) Raptor (second best vertical scroller shoot

Actually, I second this motion - "Good" AIs should sue for peace over aggression, only going to war when attacked or to help friends. It would just make more sense Also, do know that even if you're militarily strong agaisnt AI, they might still declare war on you if several factors pitch in: Closer border, ethical alignement, if you're parking war shi
GalCiv 2 has been going up and down in the ranking these past few weeks, since launch. On Games Ranking early this week it was in 11th-15t position, today it's back to 2nd, same on gamespot. It's up and down but always amongst the top crop
One quick work-around is: Save your game then reload it. This usually fixes it in my games. Edit: Actually, this isn't true, it fixed it TWICE, but I haven't been giving my ships to other races that much and sometimes I just didn'T do it so the ships disappeared. But still, it worked everytime I tried it. Nice story by the way
Isn't that the "System not set to US-English" bug?
the wheel on mouse can usually be pressed down like a button. That's your third button. If you can't, then I suggest trying to use both buttons at once, like SmackleFunky said. If that doesn't work, I don't know.
Hmm, yeah, maybe the AI, having a single planet, or two, or three, will try to keep on and expand until everything possible has been grabbed, and since you keep killing his stuff, and there's always some ressource of planet not claimed, that he will keep trying to expand? Have you colonized all planets and taken all star ressources, see if the AI does anything then?
That's something that could be fixed by allowing the player to decide which ship to attack first, even if you don't control every single ship individually, just being able to designate a target would make a world of difference.
I -always- see the AI escort -most- of their "invasion" fleets. Do know that the AI often makes transport run around even when in time of peace, those are rarely escorted. These transport, when at war, will often get into your read-end and capture unguarded planets. The AI's invasion fleets will originate from their territory and will be accompanied by armed forces. Usually very slowly <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smile
Shields block Beams Armor blocks Mass drivers Missile deffense blocks Missiles Armor type type that isn't meant for certain weapons blocks at the value of their root. That is, if you have 9 armor and someone attacks you with a beam attack, your armor confers you 3 points of deffense.
They're doing this to spite microsoft
From my point of view, the AI does have it's low point at LOWER DIFFICULTY LEVELS. My main gripe is that even at intelligent, with 100% economy, the AI doesn't seem to be doing that much. On the other hand, playing a higher difficulty levels (where the AIs get an economic bonus) they can be seen in their true splendor. I think it might be a bug or something, but shouldn't it be doable to allow all algorithms without an
Woooh! Rotation's the name of the game! As for the AI, I can't wait to see what evil little conction you are brewing us =D
It's been discussed many times over - the minor races (and even the major races) don't seem to make use of newly-given ship until you save and reload your game. Bug.
most laptop graphic cards are installed as OEM by the manufacturer. I suggest looking up where you bought your laptop, see if they can get one and install it.
by "uninstalling" are you simply deleting the folder or using window's Add/remove program? If you're just deleting the folder, make sure you empty your recycle bin. Also, you need about 1.5 free GB space for this game. And windows needs to have about 1gb free for optimal performances so try not to fill up your HD too much.
Other easy way is to go and download Fraps and use that to take screenshots
I think it does, having any sort of ships in orbit stops planetary invasion
holy molly! Hexaduple post!
True, I'd prefer to have some more control over ship combat, like Ostsol said - nothing direct, but rather general operational stuff, maybe even just being able to tell your ships which ennemy ship to fire at first - instead of always being "Easiest to kill, most dangerous ships first" But on the side of attacker's advantage, I don't see why not - a good deffense is a good offense <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gi
I played with the luck (+25) and the Univresalist (+25 luck) and I only got 2 of them...
15 parsecs being one sector wide.
Oh great, I was hoping Penny-Arcade would do something about this Penny-arcade is kind of like massively powerful publicity, when Tycho/Gabe says to do something, the gamers masses get up and DO IT, when Tycho/Gabe says the like a game, the gamers masses get up and BUY IT. Silly gamers... At any rate, this should get GalCi
The good side has the propoer ship component though - they came in the last patch. But you're right about the opther bonuses - Evil's bonuses are much -much- more powerful than the good's. They get free starbase upgrades, money from freighters that run through their territory, some kick-ass planet improvements (FREE invasion tactics?) The good have... bonuses to trade and diplomacy with other good races, which usually means the t
much better to have a PQ15 planet than a PQ10 and a PQ4 Yors are nice to play but like someone said, they're only good for militaristic enterprises. A real challenge would be playing a "Good" Yor civilization that only wants to help and befriend, without using their miniaturization bonuses.
