woah, people are making assumptions here! It is -entirely- possible to update without having an internet connection, stop saying it isn't

You mean you can't "click" on your mouse wheel?
Tiny ships = 2 fleet points, Medium hulls = 4 fleet points, large 5, huge 6. What does this mean? For a fleet of 3 Huge, you can have 9 tinies. 3 tinies cost less than one huge if you equip them with comparable-level technologies, The tinies have less hit points individually but they fire 3 times for each time the huge does. Also, since they are tinies, if they go after a huge and win, they're likely to go up levels very fast - you can
That's another incentive for large population - you can build tons of transport ships. With the advanced trop mod you can make fast transport that can carry 4 billion troops - if you take that out of the default 5 billion you pretty much took everyone away (Imagine the ramifications) And yeah, if you take lots of economic bonuses are are rolling in cash, imagine if you had a bigger population <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/s
Maximum peace for everyone? Wow, yeah, I hope you bumped up your diplomacy bonus to the max AND took the pacifist governement (by the way, this gives you -so- much advantage in diplomacy...) Myself, I tried to used 3 different tactics so far: 1- The economic powerhouse, which everyone knows. Economic bonuses, moral bonuses - colonise fast, tax he
more hit points, for all your ships, I think.
Woohoo!
Huh... the ground invasion are 3d "sprites" and tanks and missile boats and gun turrets firing at each other and blowing up/dying... models aren't super-high-res but they do their job and they have a funny "Bumpy" feeling to them
This is mostly intended to the Developpers. Like the subtitle says, it might be a stupid question but I still wanted to ask (Remember: there are no stupid questions, only inquisitive idiots) I know you said that you lacked some in-house ressources for quality assurance so I was wondering if you had considered making use of external QA? Since you seem to have worked with Ubisoft in the past and you experienced their QA department, you pr
You can build a bunch of stellar wake star bases to give you an initial "Boost" - or you can build a line of starwake star bases leading to your ennemy (sort of a galactic highway) Costs a lot but then you can have ships cross the map in 3-4 turns
Well, I think we all gave Stardock ample enough pats on the pack about how they rock and stuff Don't get me wrong, I love hearing about the development of this little indie publisher's story (I update the main page every 30 minutes when I'm on a computer - which is pretty much all day - just to see if there's something new <img src="http://im
All you'll need to do is fire up 'ol stardock central and tell it to update your installed games, it'll take care of the rest
WaterBizkit: I'd say, another possibility is if you have a friend who bought the game, make a copy of his CDs - Since you paid for the game and have a valid Cd-key, I don't think there's anything wrong to getting some backup CDs from someone who also bought the game At any rate, you might want to go down to the retailer for an exchange. We're just tal
I don'T want to be a big party crasher but I will be... Stardock also hosts a file repository called the Library, you can find it in the Metaverse. Lots of downloads there.
I just wish you had more control over hardpoint's direction and alignement
All I can say is that your racial and governement bonuses at the start really make a difference, as well as the kind of buildings you make. My favourite approach is the long slow economic overpower - Master economics, Federalists, moral and research bonuses get me far ahead. Even on higher levels where the AI has an economic bonus, even when I compare my ~10 planet empire to the most powerful ai's ~25 planets empire, I'm first in economy and research,
This is great when you have minor races to which you give the great techs, they start building, then you capture!
Greatmirror: I kind of agree with you. Though I wasn't saying the poster was wrong to come on to the forum and ask for help, I think he was wrong for doing it so brashly. He's asking things to the devs like "Are you guys trying to piss me off?" when it's the fist time he posts about his problems. He says things like "Will I even get an answer?" when it's his first post. Yes, he was RIGHT to hop onto the forum and ask for help. But he wa
Mercs, from minor races, maybe? I think it's wrong to think that when a civilization is defeated, they stop to exists - rather, they'd become part of another empire but the species itself would still be around, thus you could forever have mercenaries from minor Civs. Besides, I'd totally pay for a squadron of snathi heavy fighters, gotta love me some combat squirrels <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congrats.
By "In orbit", Ostsol means that the ship is "in" the planet and not flying around on the map.
Yeah... is this your first post about your problems? And you're already going "OMG, no one gives me help, no one listens to me!!!"? I mean... what?
Troll attack! He just wants to scream names and insult the game and the forum poster! This is like Heavensblade but twice as worse. At least Heavensblade didn't blatantly insult things. As far as I'm concerned... Get the patch, update your drivers, clear your head then come back. If you have a problem with patching, c
