While on the face of it, this is not very industry changing, I do think that it has the potential to change it with some of these independent and quasi-independent studios working together to put out quality products. Anyone that has played or used a Stardock product has (probably) come away very satisfied with the quality and functionality of it. I love ObjectDesktop, GalCiv2, the old school Stellar Frontier...even Entrepreneur was tons of fun! I haven't had a chance to play much of
And that it wasn't really Terran in origin. Wasn't it an Arnor\Dread Lords technology?
I would doubt that it will destroy much other than the system. Each ship that has a hyperdrive can move x number of parsecs a week, with one being the lowest. Well, a parsec is 3.08568025 × 10^16 meters. Now, that's a pretty damn big area. The speed of light is only 299,792,458 meters per second. A parsec is considerably larger than speed of light (much less the actual shockwave). So unless you sit there going "Oh look the lights went out." no ships should be destroyed that are out
Better yet look at the software lineup for the Wii, the focus being similar to the Gamecube, younger and more casual gamers. Nobody except Nintendo thinks the Gamecube was a success. Except Nintendo never said that Gamecube was a success. In fact, they considered it an eye opening failure. It was mentioned that if the Wii sold like Gamecube it would be viewed, by Nintendo, as a failure of a console. However I do
Or let them only have the top two of any field. Maybe restrict some like speed so you can only get one of them. You would end up using a lot of points without getting an obscene amount compared to the stock races.
Bonus!
Yep, two of the races are killed off (for the most part) as far as the continuity is concerned. Like cat said though, they are playable in the sandbox but I would presume that they will not be included in a future iteration of GalCiv. And while I know which races are getting the axe....well, Spore Ship extermination treatment, I'm not telling ^_^
Well that is just completely stupid on nVidia's and Toshiba's part. Kudos to Frog for basically fixing their mistake. P.S. I have to admit, I was expecting this to be much worse than it was. I.E. 'ZOMG!!11! Why can't I play online?!! WTFXORZ!! gimme my money back!' I am glad that it is a truly legitimate problem, and I am also sorry that this is a problem for you. Also, what card are you using and what operating system? Maybe someone has the same or very similar card and has a lin
You are my hero!
About all I can offer is to hunker down and research up the weapons\defense tree and then take them out bit by bit with more advanced ships. Aren't they supposed to leave you alone if your ships are in your own 'territory' and\or if you are not in a war?
So any news on those ship parts?
*tumbleweed rolls across*
Which model Enterprise you looking for? There are only six to choose from
Can you really blame them?
Eh, while I enjoyed the story in Homeworld, it is much closer to a 3D RTS.
When they get around to it
Well, as much as I want to keep reading, take care of your real life stuff first.
You get another week off??
I think you are my new hero! I would like some parts that are hard-pointed in the middle. So that it would connect something like a 'T'. Also, what are the programs you are using to make your parts?
I would guess that he just doesn't want to spend the time building it. If that is the case, you can just pick a starting hull and then double click add the items you want. It would take maybe 2 minutes, though it would be an ugly as sin ship.
I have to say that I think that was the best review I have ever seen. He did an awesome job of pointing out the pro's and con's, and then also gave some ideas on how to fix up the con's. That was an excellent read, and in my opinion, spot on.
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Armada seems like a fancied up Stellar Frontier.
I bet that the advantage part is hardcoded (not moddable). However, you can get around it in Dark Avatar by playing as Super Annihilator and just use Spore Ships to conquer worlds. It skips ground combat entirely.
