PeaceKeepers?

What are they good for?
Absolutly NOTHING.
Once you are infested, there is NO COMBAT, (Useless to try and fight)and NO BUILDING of any type of Starbase, by ANY Race.
PeaceKeepers..Wipe out EVERYthing.
Like Yellow Jackets, (Bees) they have no purpose, that I can see, except for ruining the game and rendering it, hopeless.
Only thing I can think to do, is start another game, giving this one to The gods.
Any suggestion?
Better?..any way to at LEAST..have some Equitable Solution?
like..? Deals? Pay off?. ANY thing is better than present solution.
Thanks

i had them once on my last game. they destroyed a mining starbase and a couple of outdated ships.tried on my freighters but i had galagtic privateer. the next five turns i completely wiped them from the board. I got lucky and it was late in the game and their ships were no match.Early in the game it would be a little more difficult i suppose. suggestions unfortanatley not many sorry

About all I can offer is to hunker down and research up the weapons\defense tree and then take them out bit by bit with more advanced ships.

Aren't they supposed to leave you alone if your ships are in your own 'territory' and\or if you are not in a war?

they came i was in war but went after stuff in my own territory. i also thought they only attacked in neutral or somebody elses area of influence. those definately are not canadian peacekeepers

I was building lots of Constructor and Starbases with Influence and Trade, only ONE Military at the time. They wiped out everything..ALL Ships and Starbases then stuck around to take out any ships I was building, and all that were in Orbit.
The Stongest ship in the arsenal was a defender.
NO, they do not leave you alone, in your own space, even tho they say they do, and they took out ALL the Competition as well.
Freighters, Colony, constructors..No difference..All were targeted.
Made for a pretty stupid game.
Sure would like to see som better options.

Looks like a chance for a united galaxy to wipe out the "peacekeepers" so they can get on with killing themselves... I.e. political victory? Alliances abound? You might not like Drengin smell, but you'll only have to bear with it until next game

I had the peacekeeper event happen to me once. I had numerous enemy fleets in my own area of influence, due to a few planets that flipped culturally to me. The thing about those peacekeepers is, one peacekeeper was loaded with doomrays and had massive missile defenses. over 1000 for each ship (yes, that much). They came in huge fleets, with logistics of 192 or thereabouts. That seriously broke the game, I could probably defeat these fleets if I wanted to. I would take enormous losses on my side, losing entire fleets to take out two of those ships. There were some 20-30 of these fleets, although not all were equal in size.

And yes, they do attack in someones own area of influence. The Arceans went from the second largest military to almost nothing. I eventually went for a political victory. Most people loved me anyway because I was fighting a war against the big bully of the universe, the Terrans. Little did those races know that if the peacekeepers had not intervened they would have been next. The only problem was the Terrans, they were not interested in an alliance, but eventually I persuaded them, and that ended that game.

But really, they were incredibly powerful, and if I had tried to take them on, my best ship could only mount half the offensive one of those ships could, and I had worked myself down the entire weapons tech tree.
