While I would have liked the EG, I am more wondering why there still is no form of high score table or simple replay feature (like in CIV) or anything at all. Why??? Sure, I could submit my games to the metaverse, but I'm neither interested in having to be online nor do I always want to play a metaverse compatible game nor do I want my scores out of reach on some server I can't acess when offline. In a game that lives from being played often, the lack of these statistics is really b

1. The latter (you can also trade it to more than one race) 2. - 3. No, it doesn't. 4. No idea, sorry. Also, you really should upgrade your game. Edit: Grrr, Kryo is everywhere, I tell you. EVERYWHERE!

One problem I have always had with 4x games is that size matters too much. Production, research and pretty much everything is proportional to the number of cities/planets you have. Historically, this was seldom true with small, clever nations like Greece, England and Japan being vastly more powerful than poorly managed larger ones

Congrats! So, when exactly *can* we subjugate races, forge treaties, establish our trade empire and deploy our newly designed "Vicious Knid" Class destroyer against our opponents? When will you let the first "pre-orderers" download?

I'd like to point out that Starshatter is sold by Matrixgames.com, which also is a very "viable, legitimate, higher profile game download store" with lots of high quality games, mostly wargaming strategy (no, I'm not affiliated with them ), so you can just get it from them. Plus, it means that it probably will never show up on TGN even if Stardock wanted it to. While I'm at it, GamersGate.com is also

Roleplaying all the way, no question. Which doesn't necessarily exclude backstabbing... if it's in character for a civilization to do that, why not? Some of them *are* evil, after all. The main difference between roleplaying and playing to win is the perception of limits. In both cases, you (or the AI) in the beginning try to lead/manage your civ as best as you can with the goal of survival, expansion, prosperity,.... But when playing for the win, you (and the AI) are aware that e

I have a question: There won't be a retail version and you reach gold status "soon". So, why the release of February 14th? Unlike the release of GalCiv2:DL, this time there are no retail shops that would be "not amused" if you released it earlier online. So, why? There is no "gold" phase for downloadable content, after all. Sure, you have to produce the CDs you're going to ship out but I don't see why the download version has to be delayed because of that.

What worries me much more than the month of waiting is the current state of the game. Somehow I doubt that they'll be able to fix and balance it all, especially without the (open) beta testers.

Lol, considering IGN talks about the epic generator as if it was in the game, I wonder what else they just took from one of your earlier press releases and copied into the review. Did they even play it themselves? Not very trustworthy, I'd say. Not that I care, I already preordered.

Uhm.... Brad said we would get them shortly after release ("in March")... which was half a year ago. When asking about them a while ago I got yelled at (not by the devs) because they weren't "critical" enough and now you want to *pay* for them??? Well, of course I still would like them but considering they were promised even before release, I don't see me paying to get them.

Shortly before the release of GalCiv2 we were told that there would be high-res textures for high end graphic cards "soon" (I think "end of March" were the exact words... also something about them being more or less done and only needing to be released). So, where are they? It's not *that* important but I like to get what I'm promised prior to release.

Depends on what exactly would be in this pack. $9 is steep, so I won't buy it unless there is way more in it than a small hand full of hull components. Something else: What happened to the high res texture pack you wanted to release back in March? Still waiting for that one.

Looks to me like you are playing an old version. The non-functional social production bonus was fixed a couple of patches ago and all of the bonus costs will be overhauled in the next patch anyway, as far as I remember.

You can't, it's not implemented (contrary to what the manual states). They plan to expland on the whole espionage business in their expansion, though, but until then you'll probably habe to live without it.

My only suggestion so far is to pare back a bit on the adjustments to planet quality and frequency. In an abundant planets, abundant habitables game I encountered a lovely little system with a PQ 19, 2 PQ 14s, a PQ 12, and a PQ 10. I don't think I found a single system on a gigantic map without at least one (and usually three) double digit worlds. It quickly su

SideLabel (and others), please check your facts before posting. First of all, you do NOT get 25/50/75% bonus in military, research and social, you only get an economic bonus. I know, it's in the tech descriptions, but it's simply wrong. Secondly, you get this no matter whether your party is in power or not. And finally, elections are twice a

There is no planetary governor regarding improvement buildings. All you can do is a) change the production of ships (e.g. every planet building ship X shall now build ship Y) b) change the rally points of planets (i.e. every planet which currently delivers to rally point X shall now deliver to rally point Y) c) change the rally points of ships (i.e. every ship currently going to point X shall now go to point Y) Note that X and Y ca

Lol, since you evidently like to throw around technical terms, you should note that an AU is actually an "astronomical unit" (distance between Earth and Sun) while an Angstrom unit is kind of the opposite of what you want (10 billion angstrom = 1 meter).
