I put this to it's own thread (unfortunately) a few days ago, but alas, did not receive too much comments. So, reposting here, hopefully someone comments. If not, I'll just shut up. --snip-- I haven't seen anybody bringing this up, so excuse me if this has been discussed already. I'm primarily playing large/huge galaxies, and usually playing good. I don't rush etc. So, in the endgame I'll have something like 60 planets churning out improvements etc. I don't kn
As you can see in earlier post, the official multiplier is techx7, culturalx8, alliancex9 and militaryx10. But like your experiment showed, the difference seems a whole lot more.
I tried techno victory (I whined about this in the EXpack bug thread already). It gave something like 5500+ points. I reloaded, and went for alliance victory. That gave 11000+ points (I noted the score was almost exactly twice the techno score). Based on this I'd say it is x techno

I did that... I even put away the notifications from my survey ships. And it *was* boring. It shouldn't be. Tech victory is supposed to be a valid path to victory. I probably won't pursue tech victory anymore. It is just not fun currently. OTOH, you can get cultural victory very easily when aiming for e.g. military victory (or in this case, techno). I think the effects of culture would need to be tuned down a bit. Last game, I hadn't built *any* influence imp
Those new space sharks (from anomalies) can be challenging. In my last game (tiny map), 3 of them were running lose on the map, having the time of their life. It's only once I was able to get a few frigates out that the problem was solved
I used the space sharks against the other races in my Tiny/Challenging game. I just used my scout as bait to lure the sharks near the other civs planets, the sharks took out the defenders and I came with my transports... I didn't have e

This is not a bug, per se, but rather an unwanted feature. Techno victory sucks, big time (not only metaverse-wise). I wanted to get a tech victory on my last game, but to avoid being culturally overrun, I had to go to war (all the while tech being 50%). I kill the influential Arcaen empire. Now, I'd just want to get the techs finished, both Torians and Drengins were sucky-sucky at this point (I had Overlords, they had just gotten Dreadnaughts). The game goes into a crawl, beca
Welcome to our newest marauder Sami Lehtinen!!!!!!!!!!!
Arr matey! Took a while to read through the last of the 200 posts in this gigantic thread, but finally did it. Anyway, I thought if I was going to join an empire, it might as well be GROSS (you have the Right Stuff(TM) here!). I played my first games goody goody, but my last one with Populists/Pure Evil was just too easy! :) Playing good was way harder for me (I play with random alignments, and alwa
auto-exploring - auto-constructor these improvements, would make for a killer AI.
The AI has to do something like this already; it is building it's starbases, after all :) This would mainly be of use in later middle game - late game, when there are tons of colonies churning out constructors.
Maybe the metaverse should also retreive player governors and building queues.
Probably would make the AI better, if the build
Also, I think what he's asking for is a hotkey that presses the "Done" button on any of the hundreds of dialogs that GalCiv pops up all the time. If there is such a hotkey, I want to know what it is too!
A brilliant idea! //sjl ~SDC~

I don't rush etc. So, in the endgame I'll have something like 60 planets churning out improvements etc. I don't know about you, but it gets a bit old to hit the "Done" about ten times each time the turn changes. I'd just like to concentrate on the one thing I have at hand. When I'm building up with constructors, this is s

The togglable minimap with 1.02 seems nice, but may I suggest you assign a quick button for it? Those zoom-buttons are very hard to use. Oh, and when you're doing that, may I suggest that F7 (go to first planet) would rotate between the planets. Maybe even in the planet list sort order. And,when F7 is used, leaving the minimap open (so one doesn't have to open it again). Currently F7 is mostly useless. //sjl ~SDC~

Metaverse submission doesn't seem to work, at least I don't have any points. After submitting two games with 300+ and 800+ points, I find this puzzling (GC didn't complain). Stardock works A-Ok. I'm behind a NAT. Can help on request, you know my email :) //sjl ~SDC~

I'd like to vote for #310 (off-line build queues). Actually, before starting my second game, I thought that the game already had the capability :) //sjl ~SDC~

Hello. I've played couple of victorious games now, with federalists, against Normal AIs. Some observations (some of these reiterate what has already been said here; consider those as supporting votes ;)): - The governor screen, and indeed, all places where there is references to tech, improvements, ship types, need a hyper-text like quick access to the technology data. In the governor this is a must, but would be VERY helpful in the tech screen also. (though I don't know if I w
