In the last version of DA (updated on may 13th 2007) I found a problem when using the governor screen to change ship construction in starports For instance all who are building a colony ship must now build a constructor. When I click on colony ship, there used to be an overview on the map to the left of wich planets are currently building a colony ship. This functionality no longer exists, it just shows the starmap. Perhaps some underlying consequence from changing the min

For those of you who do not know what I'm talking about: http://www.societygame.com/ (and shame on you!) My question is very simple? Any news? The last update was over 8 months ago, I'm looking forward to this and would like just a little more news. As I understand it, it won't be the next Stardock title, maybe the one after that? Kind regards, G-Force

Another minor bug, but when you load a game where the interface color is blue en than load a game (from that game, not from the menu) where the color is yellow, the interface color will be completely blue the first turn, the center one will change after it was used so will the tech one but the one with the map symbols will always stay the same wrong color. Probably just some initialisation coding that forgot to set the interface color or check if it was changed? Kind regards,<b

So I loaded up my current game, played a few more turns and found I had forgotten to put my spending at 100% and adjust the sliders, basicly I had fallen behind by this stupidity and did not feel like playing catch up. So the old ctrl-n and a new galaxy is created, however it seemed the game forget to add the enemies, now I don't mind an easy game now and then but this was too easy, hit next turn and behold the conquest victory!! This bug can be reproduced by loading a saved game and p

In my last game, I had the Eyes of the Universe when the plague broke out. So after 4 turns on 100% research, I had the plague cure All seemed to be back to normal however the sensor range on my ships, planets & starbases no longer benifits from Eyes of the Universe. I have a saved game of this situation, first pirates appear, then the plague breaks out, then those Knife people tak

The Krynn consulate tried to trade me my 'Interstellar governments' for their 'Counter Espionage' technology, only the thing was that their technology did not show up in the offered items on their side. Soo... for beta-purposes I accepted the trade to find out that I did NOT get the technology. Is it some sort of bug that because they get the technology at the start, it's flagged as known but they don't actually have it? Would be weird as when you start with 'Barren Colonisation' you

Hmmm, I didn't know the event could end... can it?? @TheGreatEmperor: the event in question limits the maximum ship of all ships to 4 parsecs. Having this event on a gigantic map is to be feared! G-Force

Surrendering needs some work. It's no good if the AI surrenders because he has no militairy when his aggressor is on the other side of the huge galaxy. He has time to crank out ships, he didn't loose anything he just surrendered. And not to me, wich may be the reason why I'm so upset G-Force

I know it was mentioned that you could use the 'old improvements' tab to get multiple power plants on a planet. When you fixed this did you take into account the possibility of conquering a planet that has a more advanced power plant than you can build. Because I could add my fusion power plant on a conquered planet with anti-matter power plant. G-Force

In a recent game I got the event that creates the pirates! (note to dev: their name appears to include the '!') So ok, I thought what's a couple of pirate ships right? How hard can it be??? WRONG, these pirates where everywhere with more ships and more powerfull than anything I had. As a result in the entire galaxy every none-pirate ship was destroyed along with all the starbases. It's not a bad mega-event (if it is one) but it was just way off scale. As all the AI's mili

Not sure if attacking mining bases is the best way, if you intend to conquer the nearby planets you're better off leaving them intact as it'll take many weeks to rebuild a mining base from scratch to the max level. Perhaps the AI reasons the same way, then again the AI is not yet fully adapted to Dark Avatar. I seem to find a colonization phase in the AI thinking during wich he'll colonize and not build any militairy. When the phase is over, he doesn't seem to colonize anything else.

With the icon list coming on the right for ship completed or planet with nothing to build, I find myself cycling to quickly through the planets with nothing to build. Often I find that I closed one before I meant too. With large empires looking that planet up will be difficult as I usually don't remember the name. For this I would suggest adding a button to reopen the colony management screen of the lastly opened colony. The hard part would be finding a nice place for the button in the

Hmmm, if I were to research Bean Weapon Theory very early and then trade it to all the AI's, would they all go for that weapon type?? Should try this as it would make my defence easy to research and the chance of them choosing the defence against my weapon choice rather remote. G-Force

Defence against beam weapons works... There was a change in the combat system making every ship fire their weapons in turn. When it's target is destroyed and it has unfired weapons remaining it will move on to the next target. G-Force

If you have not yet gotten your serial key I would recommend using Stardock Central to get an email of all your serial keys (it's under account I believe) the email should include the serial key for DA. From then on just upgrade your account with the serial key and start the installation! Oh and there is a thread about it here somewhere, couldn't find it however... G-Force

The speed of a ship in an asteroid field is always 1. That goes for the Space Miner as well as any other ship (constructor, fighter, ...) You'll see it fly fast in between the asteroid fields. G-Force

As I had all the terraforming techs, I could see only 2 red tiles. As this is an open beta are we allowed to just upload our saves to a public (or private) unsecured hosting? If so I'll do that and give you all the link! G-Force

Ok, new game, found a bug/anomaly that needs explaining: (have a save game to reproduce the bug, if it is one) So: - Load save game - Use selected transport to invade the Lentz V system, note the PQ = 7 - Invasion tactic: Mini Soldiers - Skip battle - Receive a tech from plunder - Return to planet and find Lentz V now has a PQ of 13 Using spies I verified that the planet only had 2 spots for terraforming (wich I have with Neutral alignment immediatly ter

So first impressions, playing on smallest galaxy, 5 opponents on painfull. * The amount of active agents is not updated when you conquer a planet with agents on. * The AI values the colonization technologies too highly in my opinion. Especially when all the planets are colonized, there is no more use for them! Will see for some conrete exemples from my next game * During the capturing of a planet some improvements got destroyed, the agent that was on one of them remained howev

I'd say the Iconians: The Humans only get 21 defence against the missiles while the Iconians have around 92 against the mass drivers. When taking into account that the Human firepower is from 9 ships it averages out to a 58 attack for each ship. The Iconians average to 50. When we then compare attack versus defence the Humans end up with 58 - 92 = -34 and the Iconians 50 - 21 = 29. With those numbers the hitpoints of the Iconians will make them prevail. I do assume that this is in

Hello Stardock peeps, just started a new game in 1.3 and I seem to be having a problem. At first I could move ships with my numpad keys (as usual) but then the end of turn button would not turn green (as noted in a different thread here) so I clicked it anyway, after that I was unable to move the currenty selected ship with the numpad keys. After saving and reloading (even restarted application) the error remains. Kind regards, G-Force
