Come and see the violence inherent in the system!

Really? I thought they got nerfed in 1.1! Ehehe, I think I mixed 'em up with resource bases. V1m blushes. Even with +24% they're still well worthwhile, especially when you have a cluster of planets such that the good ones get 2 or even 3 bases enhancing them.
don't think a good stormbringer would sound as menacing,,, do you? Uh...
Well over 100k copies in the first few months. Is that all? Hey man, can I buy you a sammich or something? Are you eating OK? *chuckles*
Out of interest, roughly how many has GC2 sold?
and 256mb of System RAM Um, you might find a little more RAM helps a lot.
Human players generally design better ships than the AI does in the sense of balancing attack and defence, creating balanced fleets, etc. The AI updates its designs less often as well. The AI rarely seems to "max out" its designs by cramming in the maximum possible weapons and armour in there. Let alone engines... They seem to value cheaper designs, but sadly, numerous weak ships are easy prey to faster, more powerful designs which then gain experience and become even more superior. Als
V1m advises paying attention whilst at war!
It only applies to the building built on the tile. So if you build a factory on a 100% bonus production tile, it will produce twice as much (+100&) as a factory on a normal tile. If you build an improvement that does not produce anything that the tile enhabce, you get no improvement. So an entertainment centre built on a research tile gives you no extra morale bonus - you have wasted the tile. A factory built on a +300% tile produces as much as 4 normal factories (but still only co
Don't think of population as the actuall number of people. Think of it as the size of the tax-base.
Scott, as the devs have said several times, resources are limited. They have asked their customers what they want prioritised, and MP wasn't even second on the list. You're asking them to burn off the customers who have paid in favour of those who might pay. If you want MP so bad, why not set up a web-page with a paypal pledge account. Have everyone who wants MP pledge $10 or whatever, and when the total reaches whatever amount Stardock say is required to break even on a M
It's almost to the point where I wish MP would be added just so that they'd SHUT UP. I mean, jeez, it's SO easy and SO simple to write MP...
It varies with race, but your home system is always the same wrt PQ. Thalia is PQ16, for instance. (Another reason why Thalans pwn)
Its not just the multiplayer but the substandard single player. As compared to...?
@v1m: are you saying you don't get the tiles that should be automatically terraformed from being neutral if you conquer the planet? This seems funny. I know I've conquered planets that have had soil improvement or other terraforming projects active which (I think) I've simply let complete and the tile they were on then becomes available. But to say that you don't ge
If so, then you may find military starbases have also been nerfed. The attack assist modules now cost much more, to the point where they're no longer all that worthwhile (might just as well build extra ships) I rarely build military bases; I mainly use them as a convenient range-extender for future conquests; but that's because of my play style,
guess you're using an older version of the game? I'm using 1.2
Mupper, that was considered, but the response wasn't enough to make such an expansion worthwhile. I wouldn't mind some kind of hotseat MP, I guess, but I wouldn't pay for an expansion that did nothing else. I just wouldn't use it enough. That said, I'm not sure why hotseat MP would be so difficult.
Don't think any of the non-resource starbases are worth the trouble. Wow, I'd be crippled without the economy bases. +44% to production and research is no mean bonus, especially if you can cover 3 or 4 planets with the same bases (my best ever was 6 from one Ebase!)
- make it possible to set the focus for all planets with one click (e.g. on the colony list) Uh... use the economy sliders?
Yeah, you don't get the PQ bonus tiles on conquered planets. Bit of a shame.
This is, if you make 'em stronger then swarms of tiny ships become invincible. Perhaps the answer is a percentage increase?
Oh well I could have sworn it did. Sorry for the wrong info.
Gotta love "bashers" who don't know how to use certain aspects of the game. Indeed. The thing with the big maps is that you have to get trade fairly early and then really keep on it: have one planet (I usually choose my homeworld) keep pumping out the freighters until you have 15 or so. (Always good to have spares). You can easily get a trade in
