Well, I'm not so sure. SimCity was very popular, and SimGalacticEmpire might be too! Seriously though, there are many of us who get off on building. Another example might be Society. It sounds like combat will be a VERY small part of that game. -Cauldyth Hmmm a mod where all the weapon and defence techs cost 10x the normal RPs m

And multiplayer is already in the coding just a few bugs to work around like what happens when 4 ships attack the same spot? Wow, really? Damb, that should make a few people happy... can you give us any info on what type of multiplayer...?
When I want a social experience, I move away from my PC.
Ah, I didn't know that, thx.
I'm happy with a copy protection system that doesn't punish me for buying the game. Stardock's system suits me quite well. In fact I'm surprised that they don't rent it out to small games developers looking for a good delivery system.
But DA is a for-money expansion. IIRC, the devs have already said that there will be a 1.4, but that 1.4 will be the last patch. I agree with one of the other posters who said that the damage should be a bell-curve, so that 1-12 damage would be: 0-6 + 1-6 I'd also like to see more work on the AI's handling of military strategy & planning.
kblore... you missed my point. WHo is s1genocide... that frogboy makes a unique post addressing his concerns?? do you get it? how is he different then any of us.... we paid same as him, but only negative posts get addressed??? I am confused here. Hmmmm... maybe he raised some points that frogboy thought were worth addressing? Since the

Cauldyth Ye! Ye! AI uber alles!
No you shouln't, because your production spending should be at 100% all of the time. Well, in the interval between war being declared on me and enemy ships actually appearing, I usually ramp my research way up...
Officially you can't. There is no multiplayer in GalCiv2. I'm told there is a kind of way to do this within the cheat-mode, but I have never tried it.
2500BC ain't that much... it spends pretty quickly, especially on big maps.
Does the AI ever surrender to you if you're at war with it? Yes, I have had this happen when I was strong in ships but had no transports; I stripped the arceans of all their warships and had all of their planets within sensor range of at least one fleet. They surrendered 12 planets to me.
Yep, spoofing the AI into researching the wrong defence tech works really well.
Oh... I've never played the campaign.
How is it unbalancing? If the new planets don't give you any advantage, don't colonise them.
Huh, most people are complaining that starbase have been made too weak!
Did this thread leave anyone else feeling a bit baffled? WTF?!
Researching technologies and building improvements improves your civilisation, you say? Wow... this changes everything!
Ouch those are some mean fighters!
*quivers with anticipation*
Yep, you can't fault it for £13!
Yeah, I'll bet, given that the starforce games are usually fairly quickly cracked. You do know that you shouldn't have to reinstall more than once a year at most, right?
Finally someone from Stardock has stated publicly that the core ships designs are poor! Um, this has been said many times by the games designers. Who has ever denied it? They don't use any miniaturisation whatsover, for a start.
Don't forget that a very important ability of all starbases is to increase your range.
