HercMighty, can you send me a screenshot with your debug.err file so that we can check it out? Make sure you tell me in the e-mail that it's in reply to this thread. [email protected]

Can you please install SmartException from https://www.stardock.com/products/smartexception The submit button won't work, but you can attach the file it makes, GalCiv2.exe.cra, in an e-mail to me at [email protected]
I wasn't able to get in the new shading differences in before this latest update. It should be in the next build. It will be more apparent with these, and we also plan to add icons to show if a tech has been researched and if it is the tech currently being researched.
I'll take a look at the code that clears out an existing game.
C'mon, beer vs. new video card? You had to think about it? Glad that you were able to get it running.
DungeonGod, if you're still getting the crashes on startup can you please e-mail the debug.err report to me at [email protected] ?
I asked one of the managers and he said that at some point when Gal Civ 2 is released you should be able to get an ISO of the CD, but there's nothing in place right now and the beta will only ever be available through SDC.
Hmmm...the code that translates the mouse coordinates must be unforgiving. I'll add that to my list to look at.
I don't know if it will be accessible through Stardock Central. I'll ask Pat.
gherardo, no, we don't have anything like that.
We probably should change that but we haven't yet.
Marcus Aurelius, please e-mail me your debug.err file. [email protected]
The save game bugs should be gone in the next update. I'll have to look into the destroy crash though.
and my birthday. Did anyone else remember how in Commander Keen IV you could play pong from Commander Keen's wristpad? That was a neat little touch. I used to play it when I was getting frustrated with the main game.
LOL! Well, I have it mostly fixed so you should be able to load games saved with the next update.
Hmm...both of those appear to be during save time. Did it crash at the end of a turn? Try turning off Autosave for now.
Also, you can set it to run in a window that's the size of your primary monitor. So it'll be like fullscreen except that edge scrolling may not work.
Most of that we were already planning on correcting. We're still working on that screen, among others. I'll have to look at the scrollbar though, I thought that it was working peroperly. As for the queue, I remember discussing it but not why it wasn't included. I'm interested in how many people would like a research queue.
I would suggest uninstalling your drivers, rebooting your computer, install the latest version, and then reboot again. This should make sure that you have the latest drivers properly installed. Although NVidia no longer requires you to uninstall the old driver before updating, it generally works best if you do. The debug.err reports the information directly from dxdiag so if it's reporting the old driver version, then that's a good indication that the old drivers weren't properly
If you don't have SmartException, you can get it here: https://www.stardock.com/products/SmartException Sorry that I didn't manage to fix the save games for this update. It only happens when not running in the debugger, so I have to debug it using only SmartException and debug messages, which takes longer than if it would oblige by crashing in the debugger.
Thank you for the apology.
Hmmm....do you have anti-aliasing on? You could try turning it off. If that doesn't work, you might have to try re-installing it.
Probably that's one of the aliens that didn't have a race logo. They will all have logos in the next update. It looks like you're having problems with the texture coordinates though...try opening your prefs.ini and setting fullscreen=0 before you run the beta again and see if it makes a difference.
You know what, it's in poor taste and bad practice to contradict the developers who have the source code right in front of them.
Don't worry, we will be making a planet list.
