Date change... Man...that is just RSPCA cruel.
I also like how you can pick up people's heads once you decapatate them.
Lol...can you play mini-game sports with the head?
ubernaught
No doubt. It would be sweet.
Mind you, I strongly believe that lots of academic work done in the name of "political science" and "economics" is worthwhile--it's just been done under an arrogant rubric. I don't think they deserve to claim they're sciences until they consistently base their arguments on empirically testable hypothoses, and IMO, no survey will every yield empirical results because they depend on the inherently subjective nature of language. Medicine's closer to being a real science, and that's really
Lol... all those pages and all I really cared about was that little picture of not-MOM. Well...and the words about the picture. Oh ok...the survey was interesting. 95% male. Big Lols. Expected yes, but still slightly confounding. I blame the space theme.
(Hitler anyone?)
Lol. Honestly...let the man rest in peace. This bloke gets invoked more than jesus, he was just a douche politician...you make it sound like he was darth vader or something. What happened to all those CHOICES when it comes to pre WW2 era Germans? Jedi mind trick or something?
Generalizations NEVER work
That's a bit general isn't it?
Hi Bentley, Nice post. I have one question.
Once combat starts, I consider upgrading my survey ship. If you are lucky, it may have accumulated lots of hit points and experience in it's early travels.
This is something I've never bothered to do...though I always enjoy designing an uber-class medium hull survey in the late game, I've never bothered to upgrade my original survey fleet because they have small hulls. So from what you're saying, if
Hi, Good news with Impulse, I just have one question... is it possible to tab the forums? That's currently the only thing I can't seem to work out. I like to rack a few up before I read them and as it stands, this is stopping me from using impulse regularly. Thx ps... sorry if this is an inappropriate place for this question.
That's where the Influence win comes into play. If you own 75% of the galaxy and are war-free for 10 weeks after that fact, you win.
I never realized the war bit. Does that include minors? That is, if the Snathi declared war on me with 1 turn to go would the victory be stuffed?
Yeah, well it's appreciated man. More karma to you.
I play mostly zoomed in at start... and mostly zoomed out at end. All in all, I love the 3d...It's good for the extra immersion value, but doesn't crap itself trying to outrun reality. On an aside, I still play HOMM3 today, even though I can run anything on the market...the gameplay just wins, and my mind is flexible enough to enjoy the visuals. I'm glad GC2 doesn't look like HOMM3, but then I'm pretty sure I'll be playing it right up to GC3. And if GC3 fails...then likely beyond.
this could be becuase The Drath are forcing them into wars
I'll bet you're right. I only put them in my games when I'm looking for a military experience. Did you control-N at all? You may be playing against a less than challenging opponent if you did.
e) Enhance espionage: (1) steal specific tech (with cost); (2) incite riots (specific towns); (3) sabotage trade routes; (4) sabotage starbases; just to name a few.
Don't hold your breath for those...but they sure are great ideas. Especially like steal specific tech, that would really make espionage bonuses worthwhile. May have to wait for Galciv3 though. :)
Diplomacy is really powerfulll, maybe if i had the game a little more powerfull than cripplin thay migt hav been a little more picky with what they get each time i asked for something.
There is also the matter of bonuses. I think one of the great things about GC2 is that each game is so customizable. I must admit, I've only just recently resisted the urge to pick the best bonuses (eco, pop growth) every time... which has amped the challenge up noticably.
m
Alot of it has to do with how conspicuous you are early I suppose... If you are playing as the Drath and get attacked early...it's quite hard to defend planets. Low pop growth can be a real killer, which is also a bit of an anchor on the economy. It took me a couple of games last week to get a start with them, just bad luck on the colony rush and a shouse tax income made me easy meat for the Drengin/Human. But if you start enough scraps and lurk till the mid game... then yer... the Dra

It's amazing how unique you can make every game now with all the options, sparse immense...crowded medium...drawn out colony rush...every new game has so mu
Hi jedolley, Unless you are wanting to work your way through campaigns, I would recommend starting with Dark Avatar myself. It's practically the same as Dread Lords, but for a couple of extra civs to play against. As a beginner though, I would definately play Avatar before Twilight. The reason for this being the Tech Trees. In Twilight, each civ has their very own Tech Tree arrangement, which apart from being insanely fun for an advanced player, could be quite overwhelming for a begin
Hi et1sw1064, I am confident this is not a bug you are experiencing. It is simply that TotA changed GC2 from having one tech tree and thus one set of corresponding buildings... to many tech trees (one for each race in fact) and thus many different kinds of buildings. Some of these buildings are of course, wonders. Not only that, but many of the civilizations have access to said buildings from the very first turn. An example of this is the Thalan civ, which has the temporal mag
All things considered... I reckon that Olympic opening ceremony wasted money way faster than this thing
One thing I like to do when saving games, is use at least two save slots for each and alternate which one I use, just in case something like that happens. Massive sympathies to you iceonfire...having just recently finished BG2 after quitting out 7 years ago...chapter 5...ouch! I don't know if I could play again in a hurry. How far back was your
When I get a planet with one (or sometimes more) of these tiles, I throw in a couple of factories and start churning out transports.
Yep. Just spent the last game doing exactly that...I'm not sure if those poor men and women lived very happy/productive lives floating in space, but they faught like wildcats when I finally opened the door.
