wow...how about this for news! I'm actually in the middle of a game right now, fantastic as always. I'm merely requesting that DA and DL receive their fair share of bug fixes and not be totally ignored. Hi mumble, Ive always enjoyed your posts, it amazed me how dedicated you were to DL and DA, did you ever end up firing up Twilight? if so...how did you find it?

Vista's been great for me, though if I recall so was XP, in fact I don't think any problem I've had with a computer has been anything more than a minor anoyance that a bit of reading and common sense could remedy. And when I compare the time it takes to do that with living in a world of paying retail venders rent and twenty cents for five minutes of double dragon, I figure I'm in front. Microsoft, I salute thee.
Proof that education doesn't cure stupidity
Cure it? As long as you do what you're told who gives a flog? Stupidity far more tolerable than some puffed up wanker who thinks all this Punch and Judy nonsense is real. At least idiots can still enjoy soma and the back page. Capitalism, socialism, call it whatever you need to, as long as you lube up and turn up.

Voyager was awesome...even to the point of being able to put up with Johnny football hero douche Paris. But as for the comic book store guy complaints regards realism, I really think you're doing it wrong. The reality boat pretty much sailed the minute Gene thought "what about a spaceship."

All I ever need to do to get someone to show up at the house or get off the phone is find something else to do.
rofl! Now that's one I will definately be adding to the quiver.

Quote from Adolfs dad: "There's a new president and he says it's time for a change; well, then it's time for a change" I'd say that comment is a wee bit scarier than naming your kid Adolf. Still, if we all keep thwumping out our little miracles, I'm sure we'll get that shakespeare manuscript eventually. Oh no wait...wrong metaphor...

Hi, I would just like to wish everyone at Stardock and the GC2 community a merry xmas. I have gotten so much joy out of GC2 and the forums here over the past year and am looking forward to much the same in 2009. Twilight is continues to excite the imagination and I'm sure Elemental will to. All the best!
The Bureaucrats hail from the grey, soulless world of Monolith. The galaxy needs indexing
lol...thats awesome, I think they've actually taken over my own state government in real life. I have a few myself, including an "Outer Rim Territories" group that hail from the planet Formis, in honour of that champion of generosity. Damn what happened to that guy? He was best thing that ever happened to GC2 outside of Stardock themselves. He just dropped his bomb of awesome and
Sounds just like my experience with Vista.
lol same...you have to wonder what some people get up to on their computers... I'm running both atm and quite frankly barely notice the difference, except that the Vista machine seems not to care when I stack too many browsers. If it wasn't for that though, I would likely forget that they're different at all (they seemed different at first, but I have since decided this was mostly superficial). Maybe learning new stuff
The best way to destroy pirates is to outcompete them - make THEIR products expensive, yours cheap. It's that simple.
Give that man a banana!
That is quite possibly the silliest thing I've heard this week. A legitimate seller cannot compete at market level with a pirate without outside support. Piracy comes in two forms: commercial and online.
It's not really Willy. It's merely a limit of market perception. Intellectual property kind of br

Hi lost, By no means am I a gun but here goes: Altarians and Iconians are both excellent research civs. Regards your strategy... I would say that everything flows from the economy. Therefore, focus on getting your populations up fast (low taxes to keep pop at maximum growth early) and invest in a little bit of diplomacy/military to keep the wolves from the door. Once the deterrents are adequate... say advanced dip, a trade route with obvious threats and a production line of defenders
One of the best changes in 2.0 that I didn't really realize was going to make the game so much better was the change in weapon tech costs. It is now quite difficult to get up the weapons tree. Combined with other techs being less expensive (the removal of the big late game tech penalty) and you really end up having to seriously look at other strategies.
Spot on. Nice one.
Star Wars is Science Fiction.
Neg. Farseer Trilogy for me...damn those 3 books are incredible. Though maybe more gritty than epic. As for WOT...I'd have to say he completely lost the plot post Lord of Chaos. I'll never forget him starting book 9 with 4 new characters, nor the wholescale cut and paste of Dune that was book 4. People of the dragon...lol...People of the Kwisatz Haderach.
Well, it might work well enough for private users, but in the business world everyone with some common sense wouldn't touch it for all the money in the world.
I think you'll find that it is more of an "ain't broke don't fix it scenario" mate. And that "all the money in the world" is pretty much the bottom line. Vista itself, although n00b friendly to the point of making things difficult, is incredibly stable. It's so helpful in fact that it has made me care a lo

3 and 5... but 3 is the ultimate, i place 3 in a separate class of game w/ gc2. The rest of the gaming world should bow to their imaginative glory. Defining factors for me is although 5 has exceptional artwork and wonderfully realised factions, the scale is just not satisfactory... no matter how big of a map I choose it still feels like I'm playing in my backyard. Coupled with this is the fact that to temper this, they have paced 5 to play ALOT slower... I'm currently playing a six fa

Most of what attracts me to this game involves the way that it interacts with my imagination. I would suggest pursuing hobbies/games that interact with yours, lest you go through life like a journalist in your said state of "wonder," pointing out how pointless everything seems. Of course, if the problem stems from a lack of imagination itself, their are many ways you can stimulate growth in that department...I would suggest periods of sustained non-thinking, or an honest analysis of w
