I found what you were talking about on the details screen. Wow, all this time I have been playing this game I have never noticed that. I only went to that screen to turn off auto-build upgrades and rename planets in the past. Thanx for the help, this totally changes the way I will create research planets. Before I really only made research planets out of ones that had bonus tiles.

Cool. Does this only affect percentage based buildings or would a research building that produced 10 research points be worth 14.6?

When you colonize a planet and and have 3 options to choose from are they just planetary bonuses for percentages, and how do they work? Example: I choose the evil option that reads that I get 46% research bonus. Does that mean that any research facility I place there increases its abiltiy by 46%? If so, is there a place somewhere on the details, summary, or other screen for that planet where I can see this bonus applied or at least lets me know it there? I have not found

Yup. The Altarians get a 25% bonus to research at the start. Use 4 ability points for another 20%. Pick Technologists as your political party for another 20% All this equals a monster 65% research bonus when you begin the game!!!!

I got 2.0 from impulse and all was working fine. I played some games and I absolutely love the out of game ship designer. I went to play today and the ship designer button was gone along with the sliders for extreme planets and random event. When I say they gone I mean the buttons and sliders were there but the text for them was missing. I went back to Impulse and it showed that I was still playing 1.96. I re-downloaded 2.0 but when I click on start game it just te

It is purposely designed that way and even says so in the manual. I myself only play an ARC when I'm going for a ZYW.

I just played my first ZYW on DA. Is it me or are there more bonus tiles in DA as compared to TA? Man, it seemed like half of my planet were bonus tiles no matter how many times I would ctrl/n.

I have the map set to scattered. I'm not positive that comp acts this way, but it seem like if there are no other systems in their sensor range at the start

If you mean a planet that has more than a 16bil pop cap before you colonize it.............I am 99.9% positive that it does not exist without editing an XML file. Off topic - I once edited the PQ number for a planet to 72 or 74 (cant remember the max). It was neat to have your starting planet have 74 usable tiles!!!!

Did you guys notice that it only adds Beam weapons and not missles or mass drivers The game I just played I had acheived, thru research and trade, missles that were three complete levels above what my beams were. The computer would only use lasers and not the missles.......strange. If I got a new tech in beam the comp would immediately say 'new design available' but not with missles and mass drivers.
