You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

well, i wouldn't say we need players as such; i'm not personally opposed to another player since we've only got 3 now, but i'd want to clear it with them first. i'd also planned on buying a license bundle (1 GM liscence + 4 player licenses at reduced cost), so that'd save me a few bucks on the extra lisence (with this bundle the player license is $15)

my pleasure! feel free to offer any input you'd like, whether or not you're interested in playing. having a seasoned pair of seasoned eyes could be useful.

btw, LZ, if you want to contribute to our discussion so far (well, by discussion i mean mostly me talking about how the game works), feel free. if nothing else you could (re-)introduce yourself to the other players we have so far (silverbeacher, DethAdder and neilo).

I'm curious to see if the online RPG will work.  I think the hardest part might be getting everyone together at once.  Might be as hard as herding cats. ;)  Definitely worth a try though.

i do think lolcats are like roflcopters, actually.

i don't know about timing, though you may be right. at the moment we're looking at saturday evening (for the n. america east coat & midwesterners). that'll be sat. afternoon for me and sunday morning for neilo. so far we don't have any europeans playing, which is in many ways a good thing because it'd probably become impossible.

no worries KP. i'll be doing the standard 6 scores of 4d6 dropping the lowest roll each time for abilities, plus one floating re-roll (you can make the substitution after seeing the result of the roll). only significant house rule planned as of yet will be the rules for reducing level adjustments outlined starting on page 18 of Unearthed Arcana. if you draw on rules from other supplimental rule books, let me know (mostly so i can be sure to review the rules myself).
