Something weird happened to my 2.0 download from impulse

I got 2.0 from impulse and all was working fine. I played some games and I absolutely love the out of game ship designer.

I went to play today and the ship designer button was gone along with the sliders for extreme planets and random event. When I say they gone I mean the buttons and sliders were there but the text for them was missing.

I went back to Impulse and it showed that I was still playing 1.96. I re-downloaded 2.0 but when I click on start game it just tells me I need to download 2.0 and then closes.

weird. Any ideas why it worked fine for a week or so and now its kaput?

I haven't done a thing to my computer to change it in anyway.
