Exactly. In late game even large sized ships have much better attack/defense statistics. And it is bad. And starbases should have more hitpoints than ships too. At this moment they have the same number of hit points as medium ships. And it is not enough.

I think, that video cards would not have a problem with it. The real problem would be user interface and how to determine collision courses of ships.
This is a good news indeed. Congratulation! You did a good job and this is the result.
I think that three weapon technology trees are enough. I have not seen any game yet, where more than two weapon types were used.
And one more thing: you can ask for their support only if you are a registered user.
You can also add your false positive file to the ignore list in AVG. Opening the file with WinRAR or WinZIP should not work either. AVG should prevent you to open any file with a virus anyway (you will see "access denied" message). The reason is viruses spread via Word, Excel, Outlook, VB... too. It is several years since I do not work for Grisoft anymore, but I think those things should not have changed.
I think you are wrong. If you steal or buy a technology, you may use it. The question is: is the technology you have stolen better than the yours one? So you may use any technology you have, but you will not be able to develop any technology, that is not in your technology tree. And you are wrong in "dressing" too. The races will really have different weapons. All weapons have one of the three types (beam, missile, particle - it remains the same), but the research will take different t
Exactly. Much more people play RTS rather than turn based strategies. And if you add the problem, that European players have - I mean no GC2 DA in stores and a lot of CnC 3 advertisements, it is a great score for GC. I voted for GC2.
Download manually version "f". The problem has already been fixed, but the patch is not yet official. See [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/?aid=167298"]this[/link]
MOO2 was really very addictive. It was the only game (except the first Civilization) I played more than 5 times to the end. I loved designing a new ships. Some people like Alpha Centauri, but I did not. I was very missing similar game until GC2.
I suggest you to download a demoversion. If it works - fine. Buy it. If not, save your money.
Civilisation is a good game. But it has a CD copy protection and so I cannot play it, when I travel. That is whay I don't play it, but I will gladly return to it, if I have time.
It would not make the gameplay any better.
Exactly! No 3D, please! I have seen some games with 3D. They sucked! Unless you have a really good user interface, you cannot make a good game. 3D may be good, if you have a holographic display, but displaying 3D on normal screens is bad. In 3D you will have to do a flight control. This would be very difficult and so you will have little space for some strategy itself.
CnC3 is really cool. I like it very much. But I can hardly play it. I am not fast enough with the mouse. And I can not play it in a bed or in the train. That is why I like turn based strategies like GCII.
I can imagine that. That's why I play chess no more.
How do you recognize an evil being? Does it have a pink skin and only two legs? It is definitely evil and should be wiped out from the galaxy! But seriously. There is no valid definition of what is "evil". What I can call "evil" can someone call "good". I remember one contemplation of one Czech SF author. There is a term "evil weapon" in SF quite often. He was thinking about how stupid this term is. Let us say the evil weapon is a nuke. With the nuke you can kill huge amount of innocent
Starcraft has an excellent story. Human race was defeated. Yes, and? Why not? This ugly race is not at all better than any other. If I remember my very first GC II game, terrans were my first race, I have ever exterminated.
It depends on the point of view. But chess is popular some time.....
Is there any way how to quickly change the planet (or ship) sorting? There is a lot of fields one can use for sorting present and using arrows is very slow. I was not able to find any other way.
Humans make mistakes. Programmers are humans. So we make mistakes (I am programmer too). Some of those mistakes are very unpleasant for users. As a programmer you have simply too many things to watch. It does not matter what is the project. The only way to avoid mistakes is to do nothing. I prefer development rather than nothing. This bug did not last long. Good work, Stardock! Next time, if you have a problem with some serious bug: gather as much details as possible and report it. If
The problem is it would change the system. E.g. if you know, that your enemy has attack factor 50:3, would you send more troops there? I guess not. The next thing, you will want to have the possibility to change this too. And it means rewrite AI from the scratch.
I disagree. It would change the whole game to something else.
What exactly is the heightmap update anyway? I've noticed it no idea what it does...
This is in Stardock Central: Optional module for both Dread Lords and Dark Avatar that optimizes performance of the planetary graphics. I understand it so, this speeds up some graphics algorithms, but it is not necessary to play. I guess the section "deleting temporary files" does something else too. User does not really need to know, what exactly the in
I agree... there should be a "continue along current path" button on the interface, represented by an arrow or something...
I definitely agree. And with usage of the Escape on closing windows too. But I don't think it is necessary to customize keys. GC2 is no FPS.
