It is nice to see so much reasonable people here. I was surprised by the results of polls. I still remember the problems with Heroes IV. It was the excellent game at the end, but a lot of people stopped playing it after huge amount of bugs, that were in the game after release. I voted for latest release. I don't really care if the game goes gold in December or March, but I want the game to be good.

I would definitely buy Planescape Torment. Unfortunately Black Isle is no more....
I was surprised, there are no in-game videos shown during the campaign. Sandbox game has plenty of them (first trade route established, first bigger ships....). Even at the end of the scenario there is only a text. Is it all right so, or do I have something bad?
I think you are right in one thing. It would be a great strategy to wipe the player out. But the think is terror stars are supposed to be slow. So you can prevent them from making them such things to you. Terror stars are something like scrin mothership in Command and Conquer. You will probably not win by using them, but if they appear somewhere, you or your opponent will be forced to concentrate on defense. I was already considering an option how to workaround the speed. If they are co
S T K: It does make a sense to have not yet used resources there. It is much more efficient to leave all resources (like pictures, sounds etc.) in the build. As a developer you should concentrate on the work. Optimization comes at the end of the project. If you let resources there, you may experiment with them anytime you need. And for public betas you only lock problematic features. If you have to think about "this picture is not yet needed", you will forget something important later
Someone complained, that he has this event every game and is unable to survive it. It may be triggered by game style.
I suggest you to be patient. It is better to have a stable game later than a buggy one earlier. E.g. Heroes IV was published too early and it discouraged a lot of players. The game was perfect at the end, but the damage to this great title has already been done. I am watching betas and the programming team does excelent work. So let's let them work!
And no possibility of datadisk.
Find someone with a creditcard. Give him your money and he/she makes the payment.
The solution might be to allow the space station to be the part of a fleet. The speed will drop to the slowest ship = 0 pc. But space stations weapons will not become useless.
Exactly. The only useful core ship design is the colony ship at the beginning and the constructor. At least in DL. In DA there may be some other useful design, but I have not played DA yet.
JubJub15: E.g. I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em. It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So, I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp, but the fourth one...stayed up! - Monty Pythons and the Holy Grail
I think after the release should be available platinum edition with GC2 DL and both datadiscs.
If you have a research treaty with someone, you share some of your and his research points. These RP are added to both you and the second civilization research. So both sides benefit from it.
Is there any way how to change colors of AI civilizations? I have quite often problems how to distinguish two civilizations on the map - e.g. two of them have very similar color.
I am nearly twice older than 16 and I still find the humor of GCII refreshing. Not only GC2 is an excellent game, but it has its own style of humor. What should authors write about technologies, that will never exist? It is better to write something funny than simply add some technobabble.
The only usable default ship is a constructor. It is cheap. And after that colonize ship in the begining of the game.
If someone has a planet deep in your territory, he has a base from where he can send ships to your territory without any need of a live support. And it is a good thing. I like that. No live support = more space for weapons.
Hey! I use the same tactics against AI Players! I mean the "bordering". Does it mean I am fool?
Declaring a war as a diplomatic option does not make any sense. But to tell the truth, I use this option in Civilisation IV anyway. I consider it to be a better option than just make a snake attack.
It may be possible that authors wanted to prevent this type of combat. It may make huge ships invaluable. It is possible it does not make a real sense, but it improves gameplay.
I succesfully used cargo ships against Dread Lords. It was a success. But it was on GCII, not in Dark Avatar.
I understand how to workaround it, but what i dislike is that it does not make any sense. It makes also cargo rush more difficult (cargo ships with full of weapons and with no protection).
MAX HP is pretty bad rule. A ship with 1 remaining HP is actually a shipwreck, which is still in one piece. If you use a fully armed new ship against such wreckage, it should survive. Or better - if all ships have power to anihilate enemies in one turn, there shall be no survivors.
Blowing ships up is a declaration of war too
