Yeah, 500+ missiles "early" is a little bit odd.

If you are playing the Dread Lords campaign in Ultimate edition, then here is a tip: Focus on smaller ships in large numbers. They each should have lots of firepower (missiles will help you out) and they should be in groups of 5 or more (a bigger logistics will help you on that). Larger ships are more useful on defense, especially combined with Omega Defense System super project. Also, have each planet keep a "interceptor ship" to stop transports if you can afford it.<
I'm assuming you are attacking the Dread Lords in the campaign after the first expansion, am I correct? If that is the case then beware: If at that turn both ships will perish, then the game will resort to a tie breaker rule: tie rule #1: if in last round of combat surviving ship(s) destroy each other, the strongest ship still survives (the strongest seems to be the ship with highest attack). I'm sure that is the best e
Well, just as I thought the game can not throw at me any surprises my way, these came up: Does anyone have alignment changes like this come up?
First of all, calm down again. You are freaking out for no good reason again. Now here is the deal: There are two sources of unhappiness: 1.) Population getting to high (overpopulation of a planet). and 2.) Too high of a tax. There are many ways to boast happiness: 1.) Morale Buildings. 2.) Morale ability of your civilization. 3.) Special events from the United Planets 4.) Random events from planets. And others.</
I still do the campaigns whenever I felt like it! It is a good challenge to force me to do stuff. And I also like the story. But the campaigns also gives out a good story you will go through.
I have one. I was upgrading ships when I accidently upgraded 200 frigates into the wrong class thanks to the fact all of them are similar in appearance and name. Thankfully, I was able to correct that mistake but I do have to quickly raise 200k for the effort.
Answers to question 1.) Sometimes the AI is weird like that. It is also due to the hidden AI value that is given for such techs. 2.) You can not upgrade ascension starbases at all. Have fun trying to make sure they do not blow up!
Hmm, I do not know. Maybe it is a hardware problem? I do not know the solution. Go ask someone who might know. Sorry.
First of all, calm down. Second of all, can you post the error message you are getting here? I can not determine the cause of the problem without the error message.
Yeah, it bothered me that the banking centers cost so much to build.
Another two things that are not really new features but should be addressed anyway: 1.) Better AI on the tactical level. Instead of throwing ships onto starbases where they can get easily destroyed, they should go around said starbases. Instead of letting enemy transports and constructors laze on by, they should pop a ship out of orbit, blow said transport or constructor up, and pop the transport back in. Stuff like that would make a more challenging game play.
Most of the time, I keep the tax rates at 33%. Works for me in the fact the only times where I'm loosing money is when I do not have Adv. Market Centers up (which is early in the game), do not have huge populations (also early) , or if I have too big of a military (which happens on occasion).
unlimited logistics?! Now that is fun! Bring on the Star-Wars-Sized Battles! [e digicons]XD[/e]
You want help on completing the mission? Well I have not played that mission (yet). But cracking open the map and senario files I can give you a general plan: So, you start out in area 1 with a standard force of ships (survey, miner, colony, scout) and one special ship, the Anorian Battle Cruiser (going to be referred as the ABC). I assume it is a
I know that the game gives you a load of options to choose from when rush buying ships and improvements as well as upgrading them. But I only used the Galactic Manufacturing Corp. option (the no repayment plan) Does anyone else use the other options at all?
It depends on what am I building. With the factories and stuff, I usually build the most advanced version upon colonizing (with the exception of Industrial sectors, those things are expensive and take too long to build up from scratch). I will also build any production enhancement building too (the latest version). With farming, same thing. The labs and entertainment buildings: I usually wait until the factories are developed before I go after the latest lab
I was thinking that too. I also suspect that the Random Events were set up to antagonize and weaken the strongest player(s), be it human or AI. Does anyone notice this?
Ah new mod. But my question is if I need to download ALL of the versions to get the entire mod working?
Hey guess what! I got up to that mission too! I'll play it tomorrow and see how difficult it is! Update: Hmm... A Lot tougher than I first thought. I mainly got by using luck mostly. I have my civilization get itself some creativity and hope that it would kick in at a great moment. That moment is when it instantly completed the Large Scale Building tech, enabling me to build Battleships. And it al
Question: Will I have to download every version to get the best results or is there one download that gives me every single update in one package?
After a few games on normal difficulty, I think I am ready for the difficulty levels beyond normal. How difficult is the tough and beyond compared to normal?
Usually, it is wiser to use the spies on something else besides the Dread Lords. You will not gain to much out of the Dread Lords.
In all of my games, I do not recall once where the Thalans use any other weapon other than beam weapons very extensively. It would not hurt them if they decide to use something else! At least they would not be losing like now. Out of curiosity, did the Thalans use anything else other than beam weapons in your games?
I was thinking about an escort system for freighters where you can assign ships to move with the freighters and protect them.
