The thing is that if you look closely on their ships, they almost never put defensive modules (shields, PD, armor, etc.) on their ships. Therefore, if you attack them with ships that are quite heavy on the weapons and maybe a few defense points of your choice, then you can beat them if you keep on chucking out ships like no tomorrow.

Hmm... The thing is that the Thalans are highly belligerent, If they have a bigger military than you, then they will attack you (after extorting you, maybe). Same thing with the Arceans. Both of them tend to be heavy on the military. Here is a hint when fighting the Thalans: Invest heavily in Shield Technology. The Thalans seem to never use anything else but beam weapons so getting thick enough shields will help against them. Beware though, they have th

The Thalans are also using just beam weapons in my game too! I know that they are from the future and beam weapons look cool. Not to mention that Disruptors are absurdly powerful. But does it kill them to use something else besides beam weapons? (They actually have a point or two in mass drivers once but I think that is only temporarily because they got rid of that rather quickly.)

Now that depends how far are they into the god-like stage. Normally, I would not be worried since this is the Drath we are talking about. BUt if they gain too much from that event, they can prove to be tough.

Shields will show up in the text only if the enemy is using a beam weapon during that time. If the enemy is using stuff other than beam weapons, the shields will still roll and it will affect the damage the enemy does but the icon will not light up because it is not optimal.

In a practical sense, it is impossible to get population above 23-24 billion and I would not recommend you trying to get the values above that because it is not practical to build your planets with the intention of getting 30+ billion population. Besides, 23-24 billion is A LOT to begin with anyway. For the morale buildings, good civilizations to trade morale tech with are the Torians (best end-game morale building ever: the Hot Springs) and the Thalia

Galactic Civlization 2 New Frontier is a planned community expansion pack that is unfortunately got put on hold indefinately. Which is unfortunate since it looked promising.

Although you could program your civilization to have more trade routes. But none globally.

I see. Well, despite the fact I an not a war with them, I still decided to attack them for kicks and giggles (and because I'm bored). But I'm am winning my battles against them thanks to Fleet Warp Bubbles, Starbases, and the fact that the peacekeepers did not bother with defenses other than the shields technology (which cause their ships to have nice holes thanks to my Gravatron Drivers!)

So, today I have the Peacekeeper mega-event happen to me. At first I was thinking that I am doomed. In fact, they blew a PreCursor Ranger into smithereens! (that belonged to the enemy). But even after that, they never went after me at all... 100 turns passed and they have not touched me at all. What is going in and how to get them angry?

Just to see if the aliens are stupid? [e digicons]:)[/e] Sometimes the AI does really weird things in terms of diplomacy.

I heard that someone has modded an AI to be tougher. Can It be done?

I like Tolmekian's TotA mod he did here. I do not like, however, his removal of the ultimate weapons and I am not going to sort through all of the tech trees and put them back in again. Is it possible to replace the standard game files with the mod files he designed?

2 Replies 3,481 Views

I disagree with the ultimate weapons removal because of one fact: Ship Defenses combined with Fleet Modules. The reason why I win so many of my games is because the fleet warp modules makes ships who has them the number one priority on the to thwack list. Combine this with end game armor and my fleets are untouchable. Even with evil weapons, they are insufficient to stop my fleets. The only real way that they can be stopped is with

I have played many games of Twilight of the Arnor already and I think I am ready for some mods. Which mods do you guys recommend for me to download?

Another thing: Please note that if you are loosing money, it can be also by the fact that your factories are producing something, which costs alot of money. Try cancelling some projects on the starports if you are strapped for cash. You can resume them later,

Of course the AIs can, depending on the games, range from annoying to outright tough. After all, the agressive colonization is the #1 reason why the Terran, the Thalan, and the Krynn are usually my #1 enemy in my games. They expand so fast that they usually become the most powerful civilizations in that game. Before I come along and knock them silly.
