I know nothing about programming. Someone else please provide the technical argument explaining why programming a mod like this would be very simple if we had the proper tools.
I find this incredibly amusing. You know nothing about programing, and therefore have no idea how easy or hard this would actually be, then assume that it much be very simple, for no apparent reason, and ask someone else to prove what you've assumed to be true. I'm no real programmer eith

I would suggest that research inflation, in a slightly adjusted form, be added as an option, perhaps as part of the research speed option. So after slow, you have inflationary. Since we have people here who like it both ways, why not let them choose which way to go?

Yeah, well, millions of people go on thier own little nutty rampages and almost all of them get ignored. He would be by now, the media certainly is ignoring him, but folks like you just won't let anyone forget about him. Thus creating the very problem you are upset about. I mean there are nuts who has tried to crusade against just about everything and nobody gives them any publicity.

Okay. Has it occurred to you that wishing death and violence on anyone is just plain wrong. If anything, you are just helping to make his point by acting this way. Now I too find some games disgusting and am astonished that people have such a low sense of morality to play them, especially GTA. That being said, I have nothing to do with this guy, who is clearly not a gamer and know nothing about what he is talking about. Personally, I don't know what anyone still listens to him or e

You should also note that sometimes planets with only 1 or 2 PQ have a huge number of convertable squares. With time such planets can become VERY useful. Such things are all parts of the strategy as you can go either way.

When things change, people, often those who refuse to change and can't seem to imagine any way but the old one, start saying that such and such is dying. There are several areas all doing that right now, movie, music distribution, and PC games among others, and the companies behind all are refusing to change while crying about their businesses dying. Meanwhile, fresh new companies are making plenty of money by ignoring the old ways and adapting to the times. It's the way it's always b

Details like that are only provided by game manuals in a very small perentage of games. Usually, fan made resources are where you have to find such information. I also doubt there are very many who super analyze everything like that, and I definitely think it unreasonable for you to expect Stardock to make their game and game manuals just to suit your own unique style of playing. If this is really a bother, then do what the Heroes of Might and Magic V people did and put together a det

Don't forget too, the Firaxis has a whole team of people to work on these things. Gathering from a post by one of the developers recently, Stardock, as least for the Vanilla GalCiv II had like 6 people. And it still beats the pants of everything not made by Sid or the old Microprose. And while some games do come with nice detailed manuals (which I do appreciate) many other strategy games don't. Don't fault Stardock for not throwing in expensive and time-consuming extras that many big

Actually, SG-1 was still plenty popular when it ended. It's better financially for a show to end when it's still popular right before it ends up not being popular. Eureka is actually one of their most popular shows right now. I think it beat SG-A right now and will have a 3rd season. The new Amanda Tapping series is not really a new series at all. It's called Sanctuary, and it premiered as the first regular professional tv series totally online. Sci decided to pick it up.

While the weekend movies may not be exactly award winners, it doesn't really matter if anyone likes them or not. Scifi makes millions on them. They are cheep and easy to mass produce, so it takes a rather small audience to make a profit on them. Hence the reason they make them.

Just assume that the upgrades you mention as solving those problems as what the extreme tech represent for the Yor. Besides, those kinds of upgrades are not nearly so simple as you seem to think. As a matter of fact, they would tend to be very costly, resource-intensive endeavors.

Great analysis, which pretty much sums it up.

I think rather than trying to directly convert the advantages and disadvatages of the SMAC factions, instead remake them completely in GC2 terms. For evamply, you know the philosophy of the Hive, so what bonuses should they get based on that, rather than the bonues they got in SMAC.
Wrong! We get the Hydrogen not from water but from processing hydrocarbons or some anorganic materials, or biological processes by some bacteria, or maybe some other source, but getting hydrogen from water is just way too energy inefficient.
Um--no. We get hydrogen mostly from water. Even if you were right, those sources still originally came from water. Hydrocarbons must come from ultimately organic source, in turn coming from living beings who got the hydrogen from w
Ps. I come in peace. My intention is not to insult any Trekkies out there, I mean only to learn why so many people adore the series.
Then, and I mean this gently, go start a new thread about that. Don't disrupt this thread to ask a barely related question. While I have some things to say, I won't help you disrupt this thread to answer it. (I know you meant no harm, which is why I am trying to be nice) Anyway, since you didn't restrict it to official series, I w

If you download a program that hasn't been released yet, isn't finished, and is being made available mostly for testing purposes, you shouldn't be surprised when it has problems. If you don't like that, wait until the game is actually released before you play it.
