If this is happening however - do we stop it? I'm of the mind we shut it off unless the AI is playing on any level where it gets bonuses over the human player.

Super Organizer is an iffy trait. How good it is really matters as to how many other good-aligned civs are in the game with you. When someone attacks you (and I think when you attack them) then every civ that shares the same alignment joins in the war. Super Organizer turns a little scuffle into a galaxy-wide war.
I think GOOD should have an ability that makes it easier to flip Evil planets and half of that bonus for neutral planets. Think about it - would people want to live under the crushing rule of say, the Yor, or the freedom of the Altarians?
Basically Neutral and Evil are both allright, but good is gimpy
Actually, the 5pc/wk one isnt the worst Have you guys never gotten the "spies are here, we are infesting every planet, enjoy" event ? It's really terrible if you've already used quite a few spies, so the costs are exorbitant, then the spies are on your econ tiles - that event sucks the most amount of suckable objects.
I always wondered just what it was capable of doing with the enhanced options on - like just how much smarter is it?
Also I'm still of the mindset that the AI gets the fog revealed when you do.
Numerics junkie setting in here - the Yor will be nearly unstoppable on such a big map with Super Isolator going against the Terrans, assuming a 50-50 racial split or something anywhere near that for the two races - the Terran will have serious issues getting deep into Yor space with the max speed penalty. Meanwhile a Terran AI really doesn't get anything out of Super Diplomacy in a 1v1.
I wish the maker of this mod would update it for DA... PLZ?
Dunno if you havent tried this (and you probably have) but it's one of those "check this first" - do you have "Declare War" in diplomacy, and have you tried just attacking one of thier ships/space stations/thier planet with one of your ships?
(haha, it's okay. I've got some pretty out there views and it's ripe for humor.) Traffic... I could complain about traffic too. I HATE jerk drivers. If you need to go 90 so badly that you pull up behind me on a two line highway (trailer taking up the other lane) and flash your brights and honk to get me to go faster, you need to wake up earlier or leave the house earlier, plain and simple.
Let me explain why I dont like the mindset where not voting is bad. You have a ballot with two selections. Joe Dude (D) Pro gay rights, Pro gun control, anti-war, pro-choice. Bob Everyman (R) Anti gay rights, anti gun control, pro-war, anti-choice. Then you have myself - I am pro gay rights, anti gun control, pro war, pro choice. The only reasonable option for me is to not vote at all - better that than throw support behind someone who runs a platform
And thus one of the world's great mysteries was snuffed out.
Exactly. IMO the biggest "cheese" with culture is the way the AIs all tax their subjects until they scream and I haven't seen an AI ever pursue a real culture war strategy. Occasionally they throw a starbase out but I haven't seen them pull it for a major strategy.
That's the first thing I thought of michimex. Can't see it being used in Civ IV Evil - at least I never saw it when I played. You generally don't get that far into space - there's a space race victory and you win by launching a colony to alpha centari. That looks like a space admiral of some sort, which Civ doesn't get into.
I'm tired of politicians being paid ridiculous amounts of money to sit in a big room, argue with each other, and accomplish little to nothing at all. then vote for the other guy that is running But what if I hate them both for being fat, lazy, unrepresenting you-know-whats. I don't like EITHER party - the two party system is gonna kill America. The lesser of two sucks still suck
tooooooast. In any case - look at the back of any ship you build. There's an engine on them thar hulls!
This last bit of comment has brought about MY rant(s) Government. Politics. Bureaucracy. I'm tired of my life being legislated. Want to put a swimming pool in your OWN back yard? Better make sure it's allowed by six hundred small statutes and laws. Want to drive your car? Oooh, you forgot the eighty dollar registration + wheel tax (that's how much it is in my county, anyways) because you apparently don't pay enough taxes on gas or enough taxes when you bought the car. Also
The biggest thing I can think of, Expansion wise, would be Multiplayer. That's a dead horse topic though, so moving on - Following behind that is more AI - perhaps one that can calculate diplomatic trades (of more than tech) based on the circumstances of the game - IE not giving you a house and home for a useless tech (like it used to do for colonization after all the extreme planets of that type were gone).
Yeah, looking back on my posts and the other posts, warring AIs make sense, we're just too cozy in the modern world. The world of galciv is very much kill or be killed - the only reason they play nice is when they cant kill.
Props to the devs from me, too. I've been modding since the original Red Alert and it's been a loooong time since I encountered something this easy. (And I agree with you, modding Empire at War is really more trouble than it's worth - I'm hoping for something easier with Universe At War) It's very, very nice that to mod a custom race or planet setup I can just fire up wordpad and have at the code. I don't know how much work went into the game to make it user friendly for the modders too, but
As I stated - Every single unit in supreme commander runs it's own AI code. There is LUA coding for the PROJECTILES in Supreme Commander. I've got an Athlon 64 3500+, for the interested party. I can run a one on one game alright, and never had any issues with the swarms of units in the demo - but the full game is dooooom. Even late in a 1v1 I get lag in the full game - it's like the full is less optimized than the demo was. For now, I just play TA:Spring - I dunno if I'm a
If you refuse... and still end up going to war... that's what we call a bug. Report it. lol. I'd like to see more out of Super Organizer and Super Spy, personally. They feel weak.
Good read, keep it up! makes me want to write one of my own, which I may just have to.
Maybe if they were able to be placed around planets, starbases, and resources. Perhaps as a sort of "suprise" trick. But for that to be viable they'd have to be speedy and buildable before constructors. I just don't see any point.
