This sounds amazingly awesome. I've tried to create mods like this before but didn't know about the quicksave "fix". Will you be releasing this as it's own mod any time soon? I could probebly recreate it myself, but It'd be nice to see what sort of tweaking you've done so i don't have to do it all m'self. :P Me

Yes but as is shown with such ages as KOTOR, having a filefront site really does help the modding community. I'd never want these forums to die because this is where most of the tutorials, help, encouragement etc. are to be found, (hopefully), but unless the Metaverse thing gets updated and enlarged I think it might be hindering modders more then helping them. Thank god for I-mod though... :)

Good idea. I think there would be some renewed interest in modding the game if there was an easily available space tp upload and display stuff in detail and comment on it. yay for resurrecting old threads! :P
Freaking awesome concepts man. There are a couple of things that are a little iffy in my opionion but for the most part I like everything you have here. The thing I really dislike about GalCiv is the lack of any serious depth. Everything is feuled by arbitray dice roles, which really bugs me. Ugh I have to agree, the UP is really annoying. If it isn't for the fact that I'd lose the option to trade with other races I'd probably just quit it at the start of each game. The fact is that there are way two few options with the UP and instead of having it be a complex part of the game, (where you have to actually try to work with realistic politics of the galaxy), it's just a simple series of random calculations. Things on these forums have been winding down for a while I'm afraid. Just to clearify, did you mean you wanted to create a few mods, or to find a few already created mods that you could use? The Star Trek total conversion and the Babylon 5 Total conversion are both excellent mods worth playing with.

i am also having a problem with ship desgns... when i go to the create a ship area, the only hull that shows up is some weird "huge" hull that i think is from the original game.... Aaaaaannnd when i go to talk to the klingon, instead of their race moviw thing, i get a static picture of the Arcainian(or whatever they are called...) help?
i have noticed the UP issue thing too... it alwasy crashes right before it... Another thing.... would it be possible for you, in addition to placing full ship models in the game, add ship parts? IE: parts that make up the galixy class, the constitution class, and the NX class. And one more question. When are you going to update with an improved tech tree, and starbases and such? you could alway put a second file up to change these things, so that you don't have to rehu

I'm working on an improved, more branched out, and hopefully more realistic techtree mod. Anyway, i'm running into a little trouble and i had a question. In the normal game, and in all the conversion mods i've played, there have always been three weapons tech branches IE: Missle, Beam, Massdriver. What i'm doing ( or trying to do), i add several extra weapons techs, (still in the basic catagory od Beam Missle, and Massdriver.) Example: Weapons Techs: Explos

the very slow tech mod gives u the original tech tree as well as the modded one. just download and u got the original tech tree!
i simply replacedmost of the minor race XML for one of the major races. that made them more like a major race. ( hard to do though, and very glitchy. i spent three hours making the snathi an evil non glitchy planet invading minor race. That was a while ago though, if i find that XML filke, i'll post it on the web, and give you a link.
