Minor civ's

Does anyone know how to make minor civ's colonize and invade other planets with transports. The reasons I thought of this is that when you tech trade you can trade colonization and planetary invasion techs with them. Why would they want these techs if they will never use them. So basically I want to make minor civ's act like major civ's, but still be classed as minor civ's. This would in a sense rasie the total civ's in the galaxy to 18 including you.

The only way for minor civs to get more planets than their starting homeworld is to trade them planets. That doesn't stop them from building freakin' mining starbases all over the place and hogging up the resources, though, or (in at least one case) sending constructors into your territory to build influence bases. That prompted a declaration of war, damn Jessuin trying to influence away my planets >

Thats not entirely true, older versions included a game option that lets minor races colonize and invade... I believe that they now do this just very rarely... I once had the snathi consume the Drengin Empire and become 20 planets large!

You can try adding a line in the race xml called 'agression' it exists fro any major race... it might do something it might not.

Ok I added agression and ai abilities to all minor races, the pirates minor race already had those abilities, but I have never encoutering them so I do not know how they behave. Anyways I will report back what it does.


Ok it did not work. Something must prevent minor races from building colony ships, they will build transports when i give them the tech however i did not see them using the transports.

i simply replacedmost of the minor race XML for one of the major races.
that made them more like a major race.
( hard to do though, and very glitchy. i spent three hours making the snathi an evil non glitchy planet invading minor race. That was a while ago though, if i find that XML filke, i'll post it on the web, and give you a link.
