well... it still crashes... it appears to be linked to whether ships are together as a fleet. i have battles on "normal" view, rather than watch battles in movie mode or what ever that is called. If i am attacked with fleets or i attack a fleet then the game just crashes. i have only seen this with the Vulcan's so far... darnit.

This error appears about 20x's at the end of the debug log file:

ASSERT ERROR in file .\Source\Starship.cpp at line 14010.

ok can someone tell me ytf nothing appears on the list when i try to make a plannet produce a ship?!?!?!? i click on it but id dosent show anything no collony no constructor no miner no anything

Try installing a program called "Ultimate Unwrap3D" (a demo version is available). When loading this program and opening a .X file from the Models directory it will display the 3D image of the ship and include a listing of materials used to design it (.png) files. That should help you determine which files for which ship you need to copy to your regular game.

I seem to be ok when fighting the Vulcan's but it's kinda random for me when fighting the Andorians & one particular Borg Cube. But like you I love this mod very much, and with the stable mod already in the works and currently being beta-tested I'm still quite excited.

If you scroll up a few replies number #611 to be exact, I had already answered this question.

At the start of a new game you need to customize your own Colony ships, Constructors, Mining Vessels, etc. There are NO default ships ready for use when starting a new game. If you click on the "Shipyard" tab and then click "Templates" you can get a preview of all the ships available for that particular race, but you will have to meet certain hull tech requirements to build some of them.

Guys,

Okay, I can create basic .xml files for use as components. How would the AI use them? Do they create there own ships or do I have to create the ships for there use. i.e. If I'm using fed ship designs, Do I need to create klingon designs if I want them to use the klingon ship models?

Does anyone else have the problem that every time there is a council meeting, the game crashes to desktop? I'm really liking the mod, but constant crashing is not very fun:(

I'm sorry guys, but how come no Star Trek date files show up in my GalCiv 2 mods file even after I have unzipped it? Also, I how do I run the Star Trek program?

Why is the first Star Trek beta file for Dark Avatar .exe and the second one .rar??? I can open and extract the .exe file (part 1) but cannot open and extract the .rar file (part 2). What should I do?

The .exe automatically integrates the .rar file to create one big folder

When I download the files and run the .exe install runs about 50% then I get a notification that I have a faulty copy and I should re download. What should I do?

I never get any of the ships. I research the appropret tech but they do not appear. Also when I attacked a starbase, the game crashed. Can you help me?

Im having the same problem, i cant build any ships except the ones i create myself. Dont know about the other problem, but i definatly cant build any Researched ships. Any help is appreciated, this mod is great otherwise.

i have noticed the UP issue thing too... it alwasy crashes right before it...

Another thing.... would it be possible for you, in addition to placing full ship models in the game, add ship parts? IE: parts that make up the galixy class, the constitution class, and the NX class.


And one more question. When are you going to update with an improved tech tree, and starbases and such?
you could alway put a second file up to change these things, so that you don't have to rehual the main mod.

I'm gonna be away fo a couple of weeks but when i get back i might be able to help out with tech tree work, (if you still exept new modders), it's just that there has been very little activity regarding the Star trek md latley.

i am also having a problem with ship desgns... when i go to the create a ship area, the only hull that shows up is some weird "huge" hull that i think is from the original game....
Aaaaaannnd when i go to talk to the klingon, instead of their race moviw thing, i get a static picture of the Arcainian(or whatever they are called...) help?

Ah, good, I'm not the only person that experienced the Klingons as Arceans problem. I was told at the time that it was probably a user error, rather than a problem with the mod. Glad to see that is not the case.

Sorry, I've been playing too much Rome Total War. Yes the Klingons / Arceans problem was some thing we forgot to change. It's not user error. We have fixed the issues and have a new build ready. Unfortunatly due to the amount of stuff we have put in the mod, the memory issue is really bad. I really hope Stardock fixes the memory bug. Until then we're on standby.

no one knows why no ships show up to build? I really want to build some cannon starships.

edit> What i mean is no matter how many technologies i research i get ZERO Trek hulls to build it in. All I see is a single Generic Large hull, but the proper ships show up in templates, just i cant do anything with them. Otherwise the mod works well, I get the proper starting ships.
