Creating custom techtree trouble..

I'm working on an improved, more branched out, and hopefully more realistic techtree mod.
Anyway, i'm running into a little trouble and i had a question.
In the normal game, and in all the conversion mods i've played, there have always been three weapons tech branches IE: Missle, Beam, Massdriver.
What i'm doing ( or trying to do), i add several extra weapons techs, (still in the basic catagory od Beam Missle, and Massdriver.)

Example:

Weapons Techs:

Explosives Theory:
Bomb Theory
Missile Theory
Atomic Theory
Accelerted Projectile Theory
Laser Theory
Plasma Theory
Ray gun Theory
Particle Theory
Phaser Theory

Each one would still be (In essance Missile, Gun, and laser, but they would now allow for much greater customization.

So tell me... Is this even possible?

But i almost forgot to tell you my problem..
I have the laser, and Phased weapons theory branches compleated, but for some stupid reason the beam weapons theory still shows up, and my phaser theory is linked to it, instead of space weapons.

Help?

What is the 'Requires' field for your new theory techs set to?

I just tried it with no problems:









This is what the entry in TechTree.xml looks like:

It won't be done for a couple of weeks however, but i think it will be good.
(i will also have to do several things to the ship components XML as well as the tech XML.)

hmmm... cheats.... i remember cheats...... XD
well actually do remember using cheats a while ago, but i tried to do it the other day and it wouldn't let me... so I'm not sure anymore....
