#1 what is miniaturization and why do I want it? #2 I planet gave me a ship in support of a war I was having with another race. Once of the ships won't let me move it ANYWHERE and it asks me if I am sure I want to move [wherever] because that will start a war with the race that just gave me the ship and then it adds that it will need to be put in autopilot. Whatever, point is, I can't get this ship. they gave me two and one I got to my home planet fine. #3 In a current gam

Is it possible to exchange saved games to other players to see if they could have faired any better?

My two points are 1) the ships cited above must be of the "huge" type. 2) research to get the advanced hulls takes a LONG time, therefore less time to research defenses. In the meantime, the AI is not intrsted in building big capital ships, so it researches weapons. Usually one type. There exists, therefore, a gap of time when the AI really has the advantage while you research hulls big enough to put defenses, worth putting on a ship, on.

In the game you get random events. It's nice that they are random, but I have only seen like 13. I am cool with that but if you play LONG games like I do you start to see the same thing over and over and over again. My question, can they add content to make new events happen? Also, in the Galactic government, again in long games, they tend to repeat suggested legislation. Is anyone working to add new stuff to this? as an aside, I have a massive majority and I get what I wan

there is definitely a reason to colonize as much as you can. You have more of a say during the galactic meetings. having more planets is sometimes reason enough for other races to fear you and thus be nice to you. more planets equals more money too to fund whatever you need to win. In DA, I once took over a planet and it had indeed (Jagged Knife) followed the idea of building mucho factories and a starport and that is why it was able to produce so many fighters.

^^^ I don't use any hot-keys. also, like you, settings I chose never happened. I turned mega events in a new game and I still get them. I chose to play the game "windowed" (as opposed to full screen) and that doesn't work. It stays in fullscreen. why would I want it windowed? To see my CPU and GPU temps so that if the game crashes (and it has twice) I can see if it is a heat issue (not likely to be since my system is watercooled).

^^^ just to be sure, though, it also means less revenues from taxes? I shut down nearly all of my farms and also the sudden I went into deficit spending. I could not afford all of my ships.

just in my game. A communication window would pop up from the Altarian resistance and the first few times I assumed they were talking to me and I was too busy to really read it. Then around the 3rd time I noted that the upper portion was apparently ME talking to her warning her of another race (The Dominion of Korx I believe) and then a response from here in which she replied as in the opening post.

^^ i did it. approcal went to 10% good advice, though I still am not quite sure why it worked or what the problem was.

I was playing a game and I noted that many times the other races contacted me to ask for things or to make me "aware" of some ulterior motives of other races. That's cool. but then I noticed that the computer was contacting other races on my behalf!!! And the contacted race would say "Thanks knownalien, but we have very close relations with [insert race]. Perhaps your informant was mistaken." Is it supposed to do that? In fact, the message was quite wrong. I had great relations wi

p.s. I just recently bought Company of Heroes too, so I am thinking of that too. I do not regret the purchase of this game by SD.

though I am a newb, I think my perspective might be unique. This is my first turn-based game. I chanced upon it when searching for ALL games of 2006/7 that had high ratings. Galactic Civ II was at the very top. i have a very nice computer and can play the video at the highest settings. Though I am in no way an authority on the game play dynamics, I feel like one thing stands out: the graphics are really mediocre. I say this as someone used to the eye candy of Oblivion or Empire at Wa

My overall approval galaxy wide is in the high 80's. But on some systems, mainly thala (my homeplanet) the approval is at 49%!!!!! I have put all my money into research, but I am not in deficit spending and I also have lots of Entertainment on that planet. I have enough food to feed them. I am desperate. My spending is at 90% and according to the manual that means I should have very low unempoyment.

y problem is that I do not know what many of the techs will do. For example, I need to research "habitat improvement" to build somewhere, but I see no option for that in the tech tree. and things like "miniturization . . " what does that do?

Great Responses. Here's another. I have re-checked some of my planets and notice that some just aren't building. ETA will say "never." I have the population, the money, and the approval ratings, it's just that nothing is being built though they are set to. ??

I am new here. I really like the game. But there are some questions, some I have the anwsers to and other I can merely speculate. I will ask some here and let you guys answer them. 1) fleet size is determined by logistics, so how do I increase my logistics so that I can build better fleets? 2) how do I upgrade stations? *answer* send constructors to them* 3) If I have a millitary station and I send all of my fleets to it (directly on it), and a single enemy fleets

8 Replies 4,316 Views

^^^ i had a system with 4 millitary stations with four modules each: 3 weapons (all 30 damage each) and each station had individual perks that helped nearby fleets. Even with THAT, the Peacemakers just wiped me out. going by another post, I am toying with the idea of sending in a ship with only weapons and seeing if i can take down more of those peacemakers. so far, of the 25 I have only been able to knock it down to 22, sacrificing everything I had.

10 Replies 4,271 Views

p.s. the Peacekeeper fleet numbered 25!!! I want to turn off mega events but I can no longer find the button.

10 Replies 4,271 Views

I figured it out. You have to send a ship directly on top of another. then when you select the "pile" you can see all the ships there. But these peacemakers . . . . dang closest thing to a computer cheat. I built a fleet of five large ships: missles 100 damage each Aeon (?) Point Defense System 60 Ship hitpoints 84 I barely do any damage. They have only missles and shields. BlackHole weapons don't do me any good.
