fyi, even if there were minor races left, the game ends after the major races are killed. I'd kind like to play until I am the only race period OR have an alliance with a minor race.

Well, could a future patch include some kind of random face generator (per race) so that when a leader gets assassinated, you don't continue to see their face afterwards? Be cool for immersion is all.

I was playing a regular game on a tiny map as the Kor against some race. I was doing well with infrastructure and was coming close to winning. Then the plague came (I researched the cure). That's fine. I saw my logistics were zero. It was bad because pirates and theives were currently around and I was trying to kill them. But that wasn't the BAD part. I went from having money to being in debt. How in debt?? As many spaces for numbers as is possible to display!!! All (-) negative values

ok. because GENERALLY I don't play campaigns in any games. I will stick with DA the . . . . which is highly addictive!! Expect a letter from mmy wife!

I bought the Galactic CivII gold edition which includes the DA expansion. I am new to this type of game. I read a lot about it and was very curious. Anyhow, I started playing the DA expansion FIRST. I have it patched too. I am getting real used to it but there is a LOT to learn. My question is what, if anything, do I gain from switching chaptors and playing regular Galactic CivII? Also, because DA introduces some new gameplay elements, did the DA expansion game update any of the

in a recent game, nearly throughout the Dominion of Korx wanted to trade "New Propulsion Tech" for my "Universal Translator"tech!! I mean, this after I was already into the Hyper warp stages of research and he obviously was too and the fact that he was talking to me was a sign he didn't need the translator. ???? This is POST patch btw.

i rarely care. i look for the bonuses and base it off of that.

^^^ their problem pre-patch wasn't their fire strength per se, it was that their logistics were nearly 3 times your max possible logistic and so mathematically they would have taken several game years to kill.

Ship stacking. It'd be real convenient if you could group a ship as a stack, lock the stock with a button and/or hotkey, and have that stack move as one unit at the speed of the slowest ship. Especially helpful for protecting troop transports. If you want to break the stack, just hit the lock button and/or hotkey again. isn't that was "create fleet" is? (in DA)

^^ the DL's came up in my game. But this game I am using was started pre-patch, and then continued post patch. no one said that that wasn't recommended.

One other thing, I now notice that when I move to take an enemy, it doesn't always hit. Like I didn't hit the icon. But it's not because I don't have any moves left. I have plenty and I can move very far into space.

Though I am not 100% what is a mega event and what is not, I will post my thoughts. Pirates - they come in now with lower logistics and lower weapons. I liked them. They screwed with everyone. Actually, they screwed with the Dominion of Korx more than me. My fleet was stronger than theirs so they left me alone, but where they saw smaller weaker ships (Korx at the time) they attacked them and KEPT attacking them. Peacekeepers - actually went by their namesake: they keep the

I started up a game that was started before the recent patch. Everything seemed fine and I saw new stuff that the patch fixed so I knew the patch was working. And I had my full tech tree. Then a few years into the game, my tech tree became truncated!! For example, quantum torps are the farthest I can research. Blackhole stuff is gone!!! Most of the higher level techs are gone. What happened?

^^^ but now they are taking their names to the hilt. they want peace and anyone who fights, they sometimes intervene. go figure.

the peacekeepers showed up for me but they were different this time, no doubt due to the recent patch. Their logistics were rather low and so where their weapons. BUT, they were all over the map like a cancer!!! I can't remember who they destroyed, but after a while they just stay in place. If I attack them they will declare war on me!!! ?? Also, if I declare war on another major race, they will attack me!!!!

I researched all all hull techs and all miniaturization techs and the armor and weapons I wanted. I went to my "huge" ships and proceeded to put things on it. I had something like 358 to work with but it would not let me add anything above 338. Why?

2 Replies 2,205 Views

Their logistics are 135 and the most I can get if 57!!! In my last game they went to the enemy planets and wiped out all ships in orbit. I kept mine far away. I was the Kor Collective and everyone in my space is supposed to travel slower, but the pirates moved very fast. My point is, I know they are supposed to destabilize the game, but since they concentrate in one gigantic fleet, they can only be taken out a few ships at a time, but this may cost you several fleets of your

I am thinking before such events, the game looks at the relative defenses and offenses of all races, but possibly primarily of the player. It comes in as strong or stronger. Why? Because if weak scrawny pirates came in it'd be a joke. On the good side, apart from the minor races, your opponents got attacked as well. Since the pirates will just sit there I would keep researching until you can get something that can put up a decent fight. Fleets work best against anything so you like

^^^ tried that and that's what prompts the message. But I think you are right because I was gifted two at the same time and one had a clear path to me, because it was on the OTHER side of the asteroid field, and arrived fine.

1) if true, it seems rather odd that it is not more closely teched with the whole hull design thread. 2) the ship on one side has a mined astroid field and nothing on the other side of it. 3) then I'd have no room for any shields or weapons.
