In regards to the time travel "theory", I like the idea pitched by Star Trek better... that all the gods in Earth history aliens (and ST V seems to say that the Judeo-Christian-Islamic God is an alien too).
Huh. That's odd, I'm pretty sure there's storm gods all over the world, in multiple religions. And I'm also pretty sure there's gods in multiple religions who have mated with humans. So, these stories of gods affecting the natu

Usually I don't read the movie books when they come out. I read the one for Nemesis and that's about it. But Frogboy's summary of the book sounds like it fixes a lot of issues. Are these books considered canon?
It seems that people making the argument that science and god can coexist always are monothiests and are of the "Abrahamic" (Jewish/Christian/Islamic) point of view. But since you raised the point, Leauki... Can you tell me that the gods of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome were compatible with science? For example, we know how lightning forms. It has nothing to do with a bearded god waving lightning bolts about. Greek scientists and Greek philosophers were not
Whoa, whoa, whoa... no multiplayer? I never played GC2 before but I just bought the ultimate edition today thinking from the description on the back of the box "put you scores on-line via the metaverse and compete with players from around the world" meant there was a multiplayer option. My friends and I had a blast playing Master of Orion hotseat back in the day and I was hoping for a similar experience here. No multiplayer?
I tend to think of the 'protein resequencers' and 'synthesizers' as incredibly archaic replicator technology used only when necessary. And still, in the 24th century, we know plenty of people who don't like/refuse to use replicated food, so I don't see why farming would be outdated.
Spock and Nero could have travelled to the future instead of the past. They could have done the exact same plotline, just with a different crew and ship in the future. Both came from the future and as a result, altered the timeline & reality for Kirk & co (to use your perception of the past). For an allllllmmmmmoooosssssttttt exact explanation, i'd have to recommend you (at a minimum) Voyager's episodes Year of Hell
How do you reboot the franchise and wipe out the entire 43-year continuity of five entire series of hundreds of episodes and ten movies (not to mention the thousands of books), without "alienating all the fans by tossing aside the well-loved and already established content"? You can't. They pretty much have to. They can't maintain continuity with an old series with actors being old or dead. They're not having much success cre

Rightwinger: I really don't want to continue this argument. But the simple fact is, you are saying that because Phase Weapon and Phaser sound so similar, they must be the same . All I'm saying is that it isn't necessarily the case. The two words aren't the same like they were in your other example. Personally, that's a change I'm fine with, but that's just me. -- I would still like to know why Abrams decided to make this movie abo
Why? I'm serious here. Most of the multiplayer crowd want multiplayer and singleplayer. But why make it an MMO? As someone who almost only ever uses single player, and the only conditions I do play multiplayer is hotseat on Civ4 or something, I don't really care about MM. And I especially wouldn't want a MMO. I don't mean to offend, but I can see no reason for the idea at all. You yourself say that only a handful of 4x MMOs have been done, and none have been very succ
I should point out that the idea that lasers are less advanced than phase weapons is your own idea. I never really liked the lasers in The Cage anyway, but I can accept them as a stepping stone between basic beam weaponry (phase pistols) and more advanced ones (phasers). All three techs could be very similar, just with different nomenclature (speaking GalCiv-ish, they'd be Laser I, Laser II, and Laser III).--Minor race<br /
ENT made a handful of changes to established continuity in TOS and TNG, but for the most part the only continuity it messed with was "fanon/licensed continuity". An example would be the Klingon ridges. An unofficial explanation was provided in a book somewhere, and at that point people just accepted it because it was never really established in the official continuity. Suddenly it is established officially though, and people might get a l
I might add that this "altering" of the timeline is one of the reasons "Enterprise" was never fully accepted by the fans. So when I try to look at the Journals page of the site, I find two strange occurances. 1. The 'Galactic Civilizations 2: Dread Lords Journals' bar on the top of the page is blurred and split (directly below the title there is another title. 2. In the past, I was able to scroll through the various journal pages to view archived ones. But I can't anymore, because there's no longer a bar at the bottom of the page to go to past/future pages. I've found that in some levels- particularly pre-DL ones, your allies are exponentially stronger than yourself and your enemies at lower levels than higher levels (it balances out at Normal, I think). Shouldn't this hold true on the other campaign missions?
Well, the reply box is really small at the bottom of the screen... And also, the pictures in the Databank (for each section) aren't displaying, and I cannot view the Game Examples link.
Knowing Klingon house systems, you probably mean 'House of Korath', but the title of a House changes with it's ruler. Korath sounds vaguely Klingon anyway, and it is not being used in the form of Korath Clan. I don't even think they said Korath Clan, but I don't know. And if anything, ST Voyager came before the Korath were written into GalCiv2.
Considering that the Terrans have agents outside of their barrier, they could work even with Earth shielded. (Remember, the terran agent helping the Drengin against the Korath? Who told them about the spore? And the Terran guerilla warriors in mission 2 of DA?) -Also, it's established that Draginol enters the actual universe at some point from a collapsing alternate universe.
I agreed with everything on there, escpecially 2, 3, and 4.
I'm curious... it says I can update DA to 1.8g, however any attempts to do so fail. That is, it says it worked, but then it still says I'm at 1.8e and I can still update to 1.8g. So I'll just stay with 1.8e for now. I was able to update to the latest version of Twilight of the Arnor Beta and GalCiv II (.93[b].002 and 1.50.133 respectively).
I hope they are a minor. Seriously, though. A ship loaded with Korx escaped and settled down on a new planet, right? So they could be a minor in GC3. Same with the Drath, I suppose, could happen.
Huh, I've found two bugs now: a. I colonized a class 22 world- Dark Yor II, it was. Upon doing so, it leaped to Class 30. Then, I purchased a Aul Incinerator, and suddenly it was Class 40. b. While you can supposedly build only one Slaughtertorium, you can actually build as many as you wish.
Don't know if it is a bug or not, but the Korath have no Mass Driver weapons. I purchased the technology and components from other AI powers.
