Where does it say that? Because I thought the Altarians were good soldiers. If it says it in-game, then that is the AI's current status.
Minor Race
I decided to do an AAR... However, I didn't want any AAR. I was going to do the Dread Lords Campaign, but I really don't feel like going back to DL. Time for DA! So, here's the Fall of the Drath: December 9, 2225 (Terran Standard). Imperial Command Center, Starbase Koj'thok, in orbit of Drengi, Drengin homeworld. Lord Vire was the direct commander of intelligence forces, offensive attacks and defensive attacks. He was the top advisor of Emperor Kona and had fought many battles
No, the Orthodox Church of the Krynn. What about Refuge? Who's ever heard of ________ Refuge before? I actually like Consulate.
Hmm. I've had it happen in the first DA mission with Dread Lords where I send out a small fleet to attack the Dread Lords. Instantly, the Korath send a host of ships loaded with troops, weaponry, and defenses. I bought a lot of ships, sent them out the next turn... and most were defeated. The Dread Lords don't use espionage at all, it seems. In the last mission, while I was building up and planting spies at them, my Manufacturing Capital and Technological Capital were being attack
If they were at war with a major race and losing, the UP could grant them some fleets of ships for wartime purposes. Parts of the fleet would be contributed by the major civilizations. That way, they would stand a better chance. Or the UP should make laws concerning minors.
The Dread Lords allied with you? Woah. Oh, the reason they still make ships is because their home world has a Civilization Capital, which produces some manufacturing points.
Well, I'm a little curious about one thing. If the devs aren't in favor of carriers, why does the word 'fighter' show up every two minutes? In the gameplay examples, there are ships called 'Fighters' designed. In the game, the AI makes 'Heavy Fighters' and 'Fighters'. Sometimes, if the AI asks for assistance, the response is 'We'll send a fighter your way if we can spare it'. In my opinion, fighters need a base to deploy from. IE, a carrier. I'm pretty sure someone said this, but what a
The only thing I use minors for is income. They'll send freighters to trade with you. I really like the minor races (hence my name)and believe that minor races should be more challenging. There should be (if there isn't one already) a mega event that turns a minor race into a major race, gives them a vote in the UP, gives them all technologies of the most advanced empire, and a pretty good fleet that can at least defend them until they build up. Maybe they should get a couple
I disagree. Sometimes, I play a game with cheats. I've been playing since DL came out, so you don't stop playing after using them. Although, you can win in one turn if you use all of them in sinc...
No. They are not. I suppose what happens is this: When the Drengin defeat the Korath and Dread Lords, they leave a large power gap- many conquered worlds were Korath. And several empires have been nearly wiped out. The Drengin, I suppose, regathered their fleet from conquest to deal with the enemy. After the campaign ends, I think, the Krynn arrive and take advantage of the power gap to begin converting races to their faith and bringing down evil. Is that right?
I think you should be able to deploy agents to some other places. For instance, putting an agent at your Initial Colony or Capital City would inspire discontent (lower influence) and lower approval. It would make the planet more likely to revolt to you. In GalCiv1, you had the ability to destabilize empires using a slider. So, an agent at an Initial Colony would do this for you. The amount of damage done to morale and influence would be connected to the 'spy skill level' techs. <br
Oh! So that's where they are! I couldn't find them, so I won by deploying a bunch of scout ships and scouting around.
Well, the mega event happened where a race gets +1 in each ability every turn, or something like that. One of my custom races, the Paulos (Not the minor race, a major race) got that ability. I was Super Manipulator, and wasn't about to wait around. I got everyone to declare war on that person. The next turn, I traded several techs and BC (I had been staying out of wars, building up) to that person in exchange for all of his ships. He surrendered to the Yor next turn. So, it wasn't very
That's true, very possible. Or the Altarian break-off faction. Or maybe they just ran out of alien pictures. This is all the game has to give you: "The LentzLandians are a fun-loving race who quickly turn on those who cross them."
Agreed. It's my favorite AAR, by far. I much prefer the narrative style of a history book to the style where someone summarizes what they did.
I don't like the movable starbase idea. Starbases are basically 'bases' in space, or among the 'stars'. So how do you move them? Maybe, it should work like this. They add new modules to Ship Builder, which would grant military bonuses to nearby ships. And each ship would focus on a specific feature. For example: Armor Assister Increases nearby ships armor by 1 point. The idea being the more assist modules you have, the stronger your ships. Someone could probab
On all of my capital worlds, the morale goes down. It skyrockets down, actually. Ever since DL, my capital world ends up in the 40s to 70s. Maybe it's because that the Capital already produces plenty of food?
I know. Unless they're a third breed of humans... (Altarians, Terrans) That's why I was curious about them. Then again, I did disable the Terrans... maybe that's why I got these guys instead of the Andians or Akilians or whoever.
I played a game of DA yesterday, and I set minors to eight. One of them was the LentzLandians. Who are these guys? I thought there was already eight minors- not counting the ones that show up later in the game. Their leader is one 'Harold Gibons III', and the portrait is the same as the Terran leader.
I think that there should be a date set indicator. I mean, yes, some players play their own stories. I do. But I'd prefer if I had the illusion I was starting a civilization. For example, if I was the Korx, I'd set it to 2188, or 78, whenever Altarian Prophecy took place- that's when their civilization started. In Dread Lords, I thought you should be able to set races homeworlds. Since you can now, it's not an issue.
I disagree with that. It was a "Dread Lord trap" that destroyed everything in a certain radius (excluding the Iconians, the Korath, and your planet). I can picture the Precursors being able to do that. Though, I agree that they should have had a better backstory for it.
Hello. If your manufacturing planet is besieged by spies- you have no manufacturing points coming out anymore, asteroids could save you. If the planet is surrounded by asteroids, they'll take over for your factories until you purge the spies. Make sense?
