Yeah, JonSarik, but sometimes the idiot AIs declar war for no. reason. at. all.
Hunter Killer360
I name Capitol Ships only, I.E. A frigate would be the 'TAS Glory' but a fighter would just be 'Phalanx 620' .
There should be a dispersion-field tech that acts like the walls of a citadel; ships entering the field are violently torn from FTL space into realspace, and are vulnerable to minefields of nukes or fleets of patrol-ships. Unpracitcal, but perhaps like a supertech you could research at the end of a long tech line that you can build on starships.
That's how I get photos for my bigass death-star like battleships, heh.
Apparently not.
Mine is the Galactic Republic, and I never play with the Humans on because my concept is dozens of races joined Humanity. The colors are Orange, with gold and orange spaceships, weapons and engines tech, and minor bonuses in pretty much every area.
I've had this problem when I minimize and reopen a game sometimes, and I can never get it to play my custom maps without shutting down. No clue how to help, though. Sorry.
It would be cool if the 'Sniper Turrets' module for a starbase did what it sounded like; snipes several points of HP from an enemy ship in their area of effect. Good idea, I like it. ^^
Those two images look exactly the same. XD
I use imageshack, you know, but I can't get the code right so I just go to hell with it.
Valid ideas. As for the Pirates in-game now, I don't think we NEED any more than we got. I only had one pirate event in any game ever, and my entire Navy was gone. It wasn't big or nothing, because I'm a peace playa, but still. Damn.
Yes, finaly I have a good idea! XD And since I know Stardock is listening, this might actualy get added to an expansion or GalCiv III. If it does, I will dance my Victory Dance V2.4 twice.
A thunk just hit me, ladies gentlemen and gelatenous blobs. If you can form fleets, why not hire a commanding officer? He could impart serious bonuses in certain areas, like a colony fleet gets a range boost or a battle fleet recieves + attack and defense. Second idea: a flagship could be chosen for this officer, and it it's taken out the officer dies and the bonuses turn into penalties for the ships. Second idea: Civilization Flagship. Not like the survey ship, I'm talkin
I think there should be an Alignment Question: When your troops are on the eve of total victory over a civilization, you are asked: [InsertRaceHere] soldiers are spreading across our newly conquered territories, plundering all that can be found. What are your orders for this? - Stop the looting and return the cash and property to their owners. We are an army, not a rabble. [- A shitload of cash] - Stop the looting but keep whatever has already been taken. Their owners
Personaly I think that worrying about if a Drengin assault force is equipped with the right gravity is a little pointless. They're going to steamroll your forces and invade your worlds all the same. XD
Actualy I was thinking of modding the game so that the races wouldn't be instantly owned by one cube that would assimilate about a fourth of any fleet or all planets in it's way, like in Star Trek. Say, run away in a squeaky voice, Yor.
If one civ occupied Altaria or the capitol planet of whatever race isn't there any more, but had to invest millions of troops into a vietnam-like war, that would be entertaining to see. [Unless it's me )]
Probably 1000 HP, although their speed would be like 3. Their Defenses would be ungodly, as well. Probably take several fleets of battleships to make a slight dent. Just thinking about it sends me into panic-mode. XX [Dread Lords on steroids]

Ah, my designs aren't a fifth as good as all yours, but what the hell. The Terran Alliance does bast in times of peace, and I usualy don't heavily arm even my warships. The Amberclad Heavy Cruiser is a noticable exception. http://img270.imageshack.us/img270/1424/ambercladheavycruisercl3.png The ship-of-the-line, mass-produced, is the Venator Frigate. http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/9026/venatorfrigatepi9.th.png For massed orbital defense
Usualy the techs are kinda self-explanitory, and if you learn the color-codes you can figure out an application[i.e: Yellow is makey-nice with the ugly aliens, Red is firing or exploding something to explode something else.] And as CraigHB said, I just pay attention to the ETC in weeks, as that's all that's really important.
Kickass. Using this, I can know when to run and when to fight instead of finding out the hard way.
Well fuck you too, sir. XD I am most amused by the fact that several million points have been jabbed in his ass and he's not made one single reply post to anyone. Not as tough as the posture suggests, hm. As for the AI, I suck at Normal level so I think it's good enough how it is, much less growing with each patch as Stardock does. Woot team. Although make the AIs build shit sometimes, please, on their worlds. XD
Yes, the last two posters are quite right; this should also apply to rushes wherein I go for the higher worlds around Sol and niglect to sieze Mars until the Altarians swoop in, and then overwhelm Earth with influence. While they're my allies! You should be able to demand that ships leave your territory and vise versa [like in the Civ series] for your own craft, and whatnot.
I agree with you completely, man. That is overwhelmingly annoying. Except where I am allied with everyone but the Drengin, who I then kick ass upon, and they surrender to the Yor or something, and I get my Alliance Victory. Kind of a nice 'fuck you' to this cheating not-cheating.
