looks cool, one of the images isn't working though.
smjjames
looks pretty cool man
not to mention a borg cube
I assume they have a Terran looking image for a good reason, much like the Altarians. it would be nice if they had a little more background such as a clue to why they look human, say maybe they are the descendants of a multi-generation ship sent out long ago. Although since its the 23rd century in the game, that doesn't leave much time for a multi-generational ship to get anywhere unless its a nearby star.
You've got a scenario set--set it to Normal and you'll have your options back. or that, lol
are you sure you downloaded the full game and not the demo? because it sounds like you downloaded the demo by accident.
there are a few spherical jewlery pieces, not strict spheres, but pretty good ones. There are several saucer or partial saucer jewlery in there, and of course, our very own borg cube theres also a tiny cube piece that is used for the drath style ships (not sure which race model they use, torian?) as a cargo thing, that might be something from Kryo's mod and is more of a placeholder type thing. Ca
yea I saw that one, it is kind of a wierd name (then again, some of the minor race names are wierd), and I don't know why they used a picture of a human for it. Although a british guy anyways. Honestly it should have an alien image for them.
it may have gotten unstickied or lost in the shuffle somewhere. It'll probably be easier to post a new one rather than try to find the origional. I haven't really been inspired quite yet since its been a little while since I've played GalCivII. I did create a few basic designs such as a cool looking scout/sensor ship made from that new Torian small hull and named it WarpDragonfly scout.
If they aren't putting engines in their ships, it's not you who's disadvantaged. The biggest, baddest battleship in the world doesn't matter if you can just fly around it. isn't that what Totot just said? lol
blargh, it did it again. It seems to work from the main menu, but when actually playing a game it messed up. 'k I'll try that, thanks
If your monitor came with a cd, install the driver. its a laptop though and I don't think the CD for the driver came with it. @mystikmind its not exactly a crash per se because I'm not getting a CTD error, it just freezes up and goes blank. I realize that DA has just been released and like any new game, theres always going to be a few kinks to be resolved initially no matter how well programmed it is.
ah dammit, it did it again: Debug Message: Version v1.50 Dark Avatar last updated on: Fri Feb 9 14:05:57 2007 Debug Message: Checking DX Version. I installed the new drivers and it works fine, although I had to adjust the antialiasing to make the intro video not so choppy. Its still a bit choppy on the scenes where it pans, but I guess thats normal as the first panning sequence is a really fast 180 (or 90, not sure) degree turn and the rest are really brief, so its fine with me.
yea, I'm installing the latest version of the Omega drivers per Cari's suggestion on SDC, so maybe this will help.
definetly some very cool stuff here! those asteroids could inspire a sort of organic ship or something. I also definetly love the borg cube that was added for a terran large

sometimes it goes black and sometimes it doesn't. I don't know why it does this but it shouldn't be doing that. I'm simply upset at removing normal diplomacy from the game. This isn't crying, I enjoy diplmacy / tech victory vs war (usually lol). The update is great, and the diplomacy changes were so players didn't -abuse- it, i didn't. its an obvious exploit. To completly (effectivly so) remove viable diplomatic trading, is basically a wargame with little to no diplomatic options </
huh? if you're still playing 1.1, update the darn game man. Still, an update from 1.1 to 1.3 is a HUGE update with many many changes, so you'll just have to adjust.
I think the mods can only be sued if they are bieng sold for profit, the game is, but the mods are totally free.
Anybody know where I can find some good insectoid alien images? I want to make an insectoid race which is suppoused to be hive like. While I was thinking of something ant-like, any fierce looking insectoid would do. I also thought of using pictures of army ants, but those photos would be copyrighted and not neccesarily great for a race image. So, I'm asking around since I did look in the library, but there are few insectoid races in there. Edit: found a good one using Klackon,
Huh... my experience with at least one Minor Race made it fairly apparent that sometimes they don't need protection. A Snathi Dreadnought capable of wiping out fleets of ships told me they have no trouble making it on their own. The Snathi are known for bieng absolute troublemakers <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" b
