When you send a freighter to another civs planet, try make sure its far from your planet..the bigger the distance from your planet were your freighter leavs from to the other civs planet the more money you make on that route..if you cant send it far then stick close to home..you may not make as much money but something is better than nothing. I never get super planets like the one above..highest i get is 21-26...but seriously the AI needs to fix up planets properly.. I conquerd an a Korx type 26 planet and they had 2 300% research bonus tiles and 2 300% Manufucturing bonus tiles...what had they built on them...3 embassy's and farm on the other..i mean come on!!!
I actually mentioned this idea of turning the game into a film last month or so..but it was struck down by most people and it was instead suggested for it to be a TV series or a book.Its understandable because the game itself borrows heavily from other sci-fi franchises like star trek and SG but who knows what will happen in the future.

if enemy is concentrating on missle techs and using armour defense..you should use beam weapons with missle defenses i.e. pd combos...this is just an example..the idea is to counter your enemy's weapons with appropriate defenses,and to have weapons yourself that makes the enemy defenses pretty much useless.. i usually when i reaserarch the massive hull tech..i cram all three defenses,and all three weapon types with a couple of good engines for speed..for better results max out minitiri
Thats why i hardly ally with any one..and i build specialist ships with good engines and weapons to hunt and destroy enemy constructors the moment they cross into my sphere of influence...my turf mine alone.

I have removed all clocks and time telling devices from my lair when conquering the galaxy.
To add to that..how about other spacial anomolies like nebulas they can be useful for not only to harvest rare resources that are in them but also to stratgecaly hide your own warships and can be used in a tactical capacity.

Is it just me or have other people noticed that after just a few turns the altarians have expanded to all most half the map while myself and other races are left with a few planets?i always play on gigantic on tough and a above.

I was near completion of a very loong game..conqured the galaxy by destroying,the drengin,drath,yor,iconians and thalans..jus me and the arceans and altarians..then i decided to give away my 37 planet empire to the jessuins( the weed smoking aliens)....good times good stuff!!!
Had a random though while surrounding the drengin home world with 28 warships...should there be a gal civ movie or tv series?..the game has got it all, a good plot,charectors,bad guys,good guy's,mystery etc..may sound totaly loopy but just a thought..what you think??
when playing as the altarians,i got a random event message that the planet of wisp 3 has some sort of evil presence on it and that i should evacuate soon..whats that about?anyone experienced that?... oh and i have never ever come across pirates..i usually play on tough..how do i pick a fight with them??

Just to build on what moosetek13 said, find a high quality planet 15 or higher,put one farm on it a couple of entertainment centres and use all but one tile for stock markets..the spare tile you left out should be for an economic capitol..i did this and one of my planets generates 538 credits on a class 26 planet..hope it helps
