I am wondering if it wouldn't be a nice idea to have the AI doing a ship redesign when: - they enter a new war with a race - they lost their first battle in a new war Add to that: -when they discover a key tech like Warp I, or XenoEthic aligned weapon or armor.

Now, I would really like if Industrial Sectors where not 2.5 more expensive then lower level Manufacturing Centers. Makes developing new worlds a pain... Or maybe it's done on purpose to slow down Dread Lords progress in campaign?

+ Changed some of the planetary improvement values and costs I hope this includes removing "Banks more expensive then Stock Exchange" feature. EDIT: Yes, it does. EDIT2: I'm also curious about unarmed defenders bug in campaign...

You people are lucky. I abandonded my DL campaign several times after DL ships in the middle of game decided they need some ship defendes and got 16-50 in defense which made it game over for me. P.S. Normally, onlt tiny ships win against DL, but if they put defenses it *is* game over regardless what you have.

Reply to 1.3 ? Hotseat in Game Talk

Well, you would need a "will" for that, but amount of job for doing Hotseat is not much. New interface screen for human to human diplomacy, a few changes in exitsting screens and few tweaks in save file data. Considering what features where added in previous patches, yes it could be done in the patch, if there are those willing.

As for various small weapon/armor inconsistancies (bettter being worse or similar), I will say that there are definetly some, and only necessary thing is to find someone to look for them, and someone to edit XML files. Much simpler then doing some AI coding, or code bug-fixing. Fire up some XML editor and carefully look important fields for inconsistencies. I think I found around dozen a while ago. Good idea is to check for player made MODSs to see if someone already indentified some of

Pity, since developing hotseat taking much less time then any other forum of MP. It could technically be done in patch.

Sorry, no MP. Still waiting to get decent Hotseat MP, after old Master of Orion II... P.S. You don't even need simultanious turns or anything similar to get Hotseat & PBEM working. Just few interface screens and that's it. P.P.S. Now my oppinion is that if MP was worked from scratch that game would have better AI then now. Something to think for GalCiv3, worked very

There are many more similar inconsitances. Especially, with weapons, when sometimes more advanced weapon is just weaker then older one. And even Bank cost more then Stock Market. Frankly, I'm suprised that things like this weren't fixed with patches yet. Most of this can be fixed with simple XML editing, it's only the question of choosing right values, which Stardock guys should look at.

As for new game (not expansion), having MP from start can give great benefits. Do you know that Civ4 team built MP frame first and AI later? That helped them build best AI in TBS genre, since they looked how MP players play the game, and then used that knowledge to make AI.

The only thing I dislike is that type of MP that SP players favor the most Hotseat (and possibly PBEM) is not in the game. I can't remeber how many hours I've wasted playing great MOO2 in hotseat mode. Same for Civ2. Also, it seems PBEM is very popular with strategy games. What I want to say is that considering that GalCiv2 has no simultaneous turns (like Moo3), it's very easy and cost effective to add simple Hotseat MP. I would be very greatful if tha

Some 1.2 upadate. All industry improvements, exempt Industrial Centers got nerfed in their productivity. So it's now 7 points for basic, 9 for normal and 11 for enhanced factory. And guess what, 12 points for Manuf. Centers. With 1.2 rules Manuf. Centers. are the biggest losers, since they cost twice the price of Enhanced Factories, while being only 9% better.

Was this finally fixed with 1.2??? EDIT: I guess not. Really, this is 2nd most annoying bug in any game I experienced. Similar Rome Total War bug gets 1st place (before fixed in patch 1.3). I mean really, the most annoying bugs are those you experience evey time you play. And you get this one every time you start play session. What is more annoying then that?

The "costs" for alignment shifts are just ridiculus. Let's for example take evil race that wants to adopt good ethics. They need to pay 10,000bc. Now, let's say you have no 10,000bc. Then you need to pay 10gp for 1000turns. Yes that's right 10gp for 1000turn. That's same as saying free alignment change. And most games never last 1000turn so...

It happens to me too (v1.11). And this is serious issue. I mean, I can't use my internet browser properly with GalCiv2 in background. Not that I do that, since games sometimes crashes when doing alt-tabing.

I want debugging tools to stay in the game. Yes, debugging tools, they are really not cheats, but debugging tools which need extrenatly to be activated (if you don't modify INI, they is no temptation to use them, be strong and keep INI file intact). The old Civ2 had good way of handling this. Any game which used cheats was flagged as CHEATER in high scores. They are good thing to debug mods, or experiment with the game. Like when you want to make a guide, and need
