i have had the ai win influence victories LOTS of times haha ??? I think the AI is quite good in a lot of respects. I certainly find the game more challenging than Civ 4. Th

I hope the code for libraries are changed so they actually appear. I want to put a NLC on it!
I would by it, directly from Stardock too. I personally am quite fond of the ship editor and would like some more variation. I also hope that work is put into giving each race their own ship designs. It would be nice to see a few more choices in the custom race menu.
The AI doesn't value influence or diplomacy techs. I have yet to see them research more than one influence tech beyond embassies. By the way, I haven't seen the AI ever win an influence victory.
I think the planet maps are fine, and I don't think any changes are needed . With that said the invasion screen does look rather, bad... Maybe it shouldn't be done in 3D at all.
Imagine if a manufacturing capital could be linked to a precursor mine... Figured out why this doesn't happen?
I have seen at least four precursor mines, however not one library. I'll keep an eye out though! (and get a picture too!)
It asked me for the key when installing v1.1 but not with v1.11. It told me I needed it too. Not that I am complaining.
I never look at the population growth on my planets. I'll keep an eye on them from now on though... I don't know what would cause this.
w00t! Anyway, very nicely done. I hope more people come up with Game Play Examples, they are wonderful to read. Nice to know that humans don't need to colony rush.
They r as rare as gold dust now! Did you know that there is gold in water?
I once had a precursor mine on my homeworld... Then the game crashed... 3 turns later...
I have noticed that the AI just won't declare war on anyone. They even seem to think twice about declaring war on minor races! Have you tried starting any proxy wars lately? It costs half an empire these days! The only surefire way to get the AI to declare war on you is to have no military. As for suggestions, I think that all those "good" races are fine as they are. I think neutral civs should
Maybe instead of blocking ships from staying in your space you could force the AI to pay a weekly fine for parking a battleship above your home world. You could have an option to tax all combat ships of a certain civ in your territory. This would lower relations somewhat, but could also make civs less inclined to attack you. A U.P. event could allow you to completely block ship access, or prevent you from taxing other ships. On a side-note, I think that borders should be a solid
Large galaxy "challenging" difficulty "common" everything Tech rate: normal 6 opponents (random race bright intelligence) Research and Influence victory disabled
This makes perfect sense! The AI is manufacturing influence (i.e. political lobby groups) and influencing manufacturers (i.e. unionized labor). Proof positive of the AI's incredible sophistication! *snicker* Anyway the AI does this very frequently. Planet managment is not the AI's strongest ability. <img src="http://images.
BUMP!!! (this had better get on the "recent" posts list)
I have noticed that if the AI does not want to turn a planet into a manufacturing base it completely ignores factories. This means that some outlying worlds take over 100 weeks to develop. I put factories on all planets so I can actually build something before the game is over. Has anyone else noticed this? It could make the AI more difficult if this was changed. I am currently playing v1.1 (I just installed v1.11) <img src="smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a
Link Wiki site Link Technology section What do you mean by "ship list"?
I usually go for whatever party has bonuses my custom race does not have. Either that or technologists.
Why in the world would you put phasers on tiny hulls? If you want a higher damage rating I suppose... Anyway I think you brought up some good points and I will take your advice (I usually focus on missle weapons now though).
I use mini-soldiers; they give you some advantage and destroy almost no buildings. Granted I lose more soldiers, but I always try to have as high a soldiering rating as possible. Since so few building are destroyed, the time it takes to build the planets to my liking is very short.
The neutrality research centers are a separate building. The are actually on a different part of the tech tree from normal research buildings. Because of this you have to build them manually (you could still build discovery spheres if you wanted too.)
Do they also increase the influence points of your empire? Or is it strictly for UP voting? And why do minor races have points, since they have no influence over anything? I'm not sure myself, I think I will go see what happens when you trade all of your influence points away... Edit: It gives away voting power in the U.P. your cult
