Precursor Library (700% research)! Pics inside! and savegame!

Precursor Library (700% research)! Pics inside! and savegame!

BWAHAHA! Got you.

Ok, so I stretched the truth. I have no pics, and outside the data files have never seen a precursor library. I've seen the logo in files, I've seen the .xml somewhere, but never the thing.

If you have ever had a library, please post a pic or (prefferably) a savegame if you have one. I REALLY want to see, because people claiming to have ever had one a few and far between. So, a massive call to arms (well, fingers) for the screenshots!

I've never seen it either. I asked Cari about this once and she looked. It's there, it's enabled, but *extremely* rare. Maybe with abundant everything settings it'll turn up.

i too, have seen many (relatively) precursor mines, but never a single library. Perhaps it's TOO rare?? Did Cari happen to mention where the library, or more to the point, tile bonuses are defined? i can't seem to fine a single entry for them ANYWHERE, outside of the .png's and text strings.

P.S.
in fact, in my current game, i was lucky enough to get a precursor mine AND rare elements (for those keeping track, that's 10 factories for the price of 2 ) on my HOMEWORLD!!! talk about a mouth dropping experience when the planet screen came up! Can anyone say manufacturing capitol?

of silvery-triangle thing

The only silver tiles are Ruins...

I have seen at least four precursor mines, however not one library.
I'll keep an eye out though! (and get a picture too!)

been playin the game for 3 months now, and I have played many of them.... yet i jave never seen a single precursor library

I play alot of games with settings, set to all abundant and I have never had a precursor library. Until I see a screenshot, I do not believe they exist. They r a figment of someones twisted imagination or someones idea of a joke.

I want one - Waaaaah

No. As I have said in post #21 there are entries in the english.str file about this and a dedicated image. So a precursor library was planned and implemented.

Incorrect. I suggest you have a look at it again. It is some sort of silvery-triangle thing, on the right side of the "Tile Bonus" hint screen when loading a game.

OK. I thought you were talking about the pictures in the game file.

Planned does not mean implemented, though.
In well over a hundred games I have yet to see one.

Is it the easiest way to goal is to ask the insiders but not guessing it about? I think you will *get it* after asking any participant of this game's development. Someone will try to make the impossibility possible or shorten the processing while others just waiting and retry. It doesn't make sense to think about something that is not designed by you.

However, hope you don't get killed. BWAHAAAAAS!

I hope the code for libraries are changed so they actually appear. I want to put a NLC on it!

You better ask them to add a feature in the ability list for one by consume some ability points.

would love to find the code for tiles in general, and events as well.. just to mess around with the odds

That can be done, refer to a link above, and it shows someone who created a planet full of libraries.

I had a planet with 2 precursor mines and a rare elements tile. I had a manufacturing capitol half built on another planet when I found this. Needless to say I abandoned that one and built one here.

Yes but mysteriously lacking is the WAY TO DO IT....

Links to screenshot and saved game for a world I hacked via hexediting the save file. 12 tiles with precursor libraries, 12 w/ precursor mines, changed bonus % from 700 to 900, all 72 tiles buildable.

That would have made a fun, but probably very short, game.

What kind of research numbers did you have on that planet?
2570 research points per turn, with spending set to 100% and allocation set to 100% research. Although I'm not sure how the game calculated that.

A research center (12 tp) on a +900% tile (10x) gives 120 tp per turn. 5 centers = 600 tp.

Another 24tp from my Civ Capital. 624 tp.

+100% planetary research output from the Technological Capital improvement. That should make 1248 tp.

My racial research ability at that point in the game is +88%. Should be 2346 tp, dropping the fractional part.

The planet is within range of an economic starbase with +18% production. Which should make the total 2768, dropping the fraction.

EDIT: Whoops, the econ starbase's bonus and the racial research bonus are combined and applied simultaneously, not sequentially. So applying +106% to 1248 gives the correct result of 2570 (dropping the 0.88 fractional point).

To Coldkilla:
Believe me, you will get a better output by working on CurrentCustomRace0.raceconfig.

Coldkilla you forgot the Omega Research center!
