actually if you right-click the blue "ship finished" icon on the right of the screen... the planet launches the ship into the great unknown.... Hope this helped a bit!
DeadDodo
actually the guidebook isn't broke... it just doesn't update the description of the survey module.... if you install it in a ship, you'll see that the cost of the ship doesn't increase.... Doesn't do anything for size though, it's still too large!
is this a discussion about galciv being pirated, or about wal-mart pirating the economy???
I had a random event giving me 2 precurser corvettes, so you can get more than 1 ship in these random events
well there have been some crash problems, or so it seems, but I haven't noticed any yet, so it could be comp. specific. I'm running 512 ram and 1.8 Ghz Centrino! (lappy)
yes you should, though it may ask you for your serial when you install the update, though I doubt it *edit: should = should not have any problems
and if you're talking about the problems they had with downloading 1.1, no you can download 1.11 without the hoopla that went with 1.1, they had the link up that time, but not all the files (I think). Some people have reported problems using a specific server though, so if it doesn't work first time, try using a different server, also you can try downloading the media/tutorial/movies first.
For the last 3 games I have been playing blindfolded. My 4 year old nephew describes the screen for me. Fun game and a real challenge ehm.... ok, that sounds interesting, have to try that one time.
Finding a wrack in space which can be transformed into 1000bc that already exists in the anomalies, I often get 2500bc anomalies... in the early game, I've almost come to expect it
mine is printed on the cd front, the one that is in the drive when you need the number.... yes same here, it's the only (minor) beef I have with it, but I guess that's not stardock's doing right? oh and if you got the euro version you may have to update your serial
Now... thats a rant two of them
Grakkus, I salute you. Sarcasm is incredibly difficult to do on an online forum, but you've managed it! That said after a few games on tough you get the hang of it, and political victory is usually easy to achieve. Luckily one can disable the victories making it far more interesting!
it actually does reduce the cost of survey modules to 0, but the size remains the same... also I don't think it updates it in the component list, but select it and you'll find you're ship will cost the same as without!
I've seen the AI build NLCs so that means they must have researched Xeno Ethics. However I don't think they research it below Challenging, haven't played a game on normal for a while, but I seem to remember that they didn't! I think that what Saguinius is suggesting is that it's calculated per tech. Say you have Laser IV and for every week after you have it the tech becomes less expensive for others to research. So after 3 years or so you get that tech for free since it's been in the galaxy so long that you must have figured everything about it by then. Of course that is only if you have encountered the race that has it. Also there's some merit in the 'the more you use it, the more they see' approach, if you
ships would either need to return once in a while to get fresh crew sounds like you're stocking up on vegetables, fish, meat and men.... otherwise it's not a bad idea, but it needs to be done properly so that most of the time the ship is destroyed before the crew. It's unrealistic to have an entire crew killed in battle and still have hal
OK, but when does it the option show up? Is it in the Trade menu? How do get a race to like you. I tried showering them with gifts but it didn't help. yes it shows up in the trade menu... though you need to have trade routes with them, and shower them with high-quality gifts, or they need to be of the same ethical alignment as you.... if they
Wow justkevin!!! that is one screenshot. I haven't run across that one yet, but I'll try my hardest.... anyway defenders shouldn't hurt you too badly late-game, even thousands of them bunched into 15+ fleets... couple of battleships should do quite nicely. PS. I said it before but I like the screenshot!!
But but... I thought it was the humans who allowed FTL than travel and that didn't happen until the 24th century. How could then the Iconians be travelling to Earth on the 15th Century? I doubt there were any open wormholes what I gathered from the IGN site, when the Yor took over iconia the last iconians escaped in sleeper pods untill they f
There are no words... how do you mean no words?? it's full of them
this is a story about "The Kingdom of Dodorian Federations" hopefully someone will mod this race into galciv.. since I'm no good at modding
In the year 1598 the Portuguese sailors landed on the shores of Mauritius, finding there an unknown species of bird, the Dodo. These sailors described the Dodo as a dumb and extremely stupid bird. While that may have been true of most of the Dodo population, Darius Dodo, the leader of the Dodos was an extremely intelligent bird. Knowing that their days on earth were numbered Darius decided that they would need to relocate, but where to? Then out of space an Iconian sleeper pod cras
I'm not surprised, the beta versions are probably just patches, probably just a couple of MB, while the actual game is much larger, so you need to download the game before you download the beta patches.
the planetary defense improvement doesn't seem to help too greatly.. the orbital fleet coordinator is a nice improvement, but the best way to defend your planet is probably higher population. If you have over 20b population it'll take the computer a couple of transports to conquer your planet, effectively giving you time to get some ships in orbit. just my 2bc.
If it's good value, and a lot of additional content, I'd definitely buy it. I don't know how I'll fit it in my budget, but I will. However it is just cosmetic, so I can understand when people don't want to buy it. There has to be a LOT of new content for me to buy a ship expansion, simply because it doesn't add any game features, and I can play without extra ship styles. Also considering that it's moddable, I agree with a previous poster, p
