Unable to re-download after recovering from computer crash

Can't download from stardock

I am unable to download from stardock (purchased software). Had computer crash, (hackers suck) and could only recover to factory freash condition. I got GalCiv and Alterian to down load again, but not GalCiv 2.

Heya,

I am having a similar problem. Do you get an error of kind: "Url not found"?

Same as you I can get GalCiv and Altarian but not GalCiv2. In order to get GalCiv2 I realised that I can get further if I don't get the latest version (1.1 Beta) but 1.0X. To do this I modified the setting in the Stardock central that says show Beta version of programs. I would still like to know what is happening. And if anyone else has this problem?

Hi,

Just figured out how to make it work. Use Stardock Central but only download the non-beta version of the game. That will be ok. Then after you have it all, and make sure it runs fine (and activate it). Update it to he latest beta. And it's all ok. It seems like it does not want to get the latest beta if you don't have anything.

I'm not surprised, the beta versions are probably just patches, probably just a couple of MB, while the actual game is much larger, so you need to download the game before you download the beta patches.

Curious. Are you trying to download the full game or just an update? Also, what server are you using when downloading?

Also, what error messages are you getting?

Well that didn't work. When I download the file it hangs up in the activate part of the install process, during the download. If I could download it and then activate?

I finally got it to download and install. Had to back up my computer to an earlier configuration removing some windows updates.
