Sounds interesting, Two different versions of the meta - Mod compatibility issue. Then how about a Meta compatibility flag for mods in the library that don't affect the scoring, Officially checked and sanctioned. If my previous question is still valid, then maybe it could all be worked from the mods folder. I'm no programmer , But if something can be introduced into the game structure. Marcus.

I should spend a little time designing my ships, I@m purely a threat manager, what does the job is good, but cool looking ships are well worth the effort, if i could drag myself away from my colonies Id be going for it. Most important is to keep up with your techs balanced against your position in the game.
I always build new ships from scratch when new techs become available. Never waste a moment upgrading. and make a judgement whether ships at the start of construction are worth starting fresh with new tech. ie you're 2 weeks into a 10 week build of a speed 2 colony and you now have a speed 4 colony ship in the hanger. If you're a long way from a planet to colonise then scrap the speed 2 and start building the speed 4. the extra build time often makes up for travel times and even weaponr
thanks for clearing that up kryo, I read that if a mod changes any xml file it isn't Meta compatible. That made me think, totally in the wrong direction, obviously, I digress to your wisdom. Marcus.
There are many people here that like both and use both. What my point is, Is it possible to have both. Because lots of mods change xml files outside the mods folder and therefore make the Metaverse cheats flag enable. Is it possible that all "official" mods work from inside the mods folder alone? If all these mods were purely in the Mods folder the Metaverse games could just ignore them, therefore stopping this mod/metaverse cheats issue. Hope
It would be nice to see the individual high scores in the Metaverse. What top scores people are achieving for single games. But I guess with so many parameters it would be tricky to have a comprehensive list with respect to map Size difficulty etc. Personally, I do like the idea of the metaverse, It puts a little competitiveness into the comunity and it's better to have it and not use it than not have it and want it.
No. If you want to obtain replacement retail discs, I would advise contacting [email protected] to see if such a thing is possible. But the only legal download option is SDC. I thought that was the case, It's not that much an issue, I have downloaded and archived the Stardock Central files and burned them to DVD. So I have a hard copy of all my files now. To be honest, I didn't like the idea much anyway. I wouldn't have bought the
You can always make the last move manually at the start of a turn to get it there.
NO, it's only available online. I think the gold edition is available in some stores but DA on its own isn't
You don't need to create a character to play, only to register your scores on the metaverse. But this is also a problem I had with my invalid serial I mentioned in your other post, The old one that didn't work was linked to my account on the website and the new one is not being recognised by the metaverse. I have been in touch with support and they say there working on it, I suggest you give them an email, [email protected]
Good to hear it, Hope you like DA as much as me.
I had exactly the same problem. I emailed [email protected] with the problem including the serial that didn't work and they sent me another. There is an automated ticket number generated and emailed back to you, also if you email again asking for an update it just sends your complaint to the bottom of the queue. Not sure if they work weekends though.
You can download it and then archive the files for installation off of your hard drive if a problem ocours. or redownload it as often as you wish.
Erm, what can I say. Firstly, its stupid and boring, Secondly, It didn't work. The webpage failed second turn Finally, Why bump after just 25 minutes, are you trying to be annoying.
Minor races start with all the tech known by the player (or maybe the top tech race). It's supposed to make them "competitive" when they appear very late in the game. In practice, since they appear with no military and no production capabilities, they're still fodder for whichever major race happens to be closest. Ain't that the truth,
I know it was immature, but once in a while it's fun to mess with people on the internet Every other time I get stuck in discussions on the internet it's with enemies which I couldn't stand IRL so I want some variation You got to have a laugh mate, not everything is worth having a pole up your ass about. No, I haven't tried the Sims and I wont install it but I know it's a girley game. I mean, how in the nine hells
I think its Brad's new AI. He's arranged for the AI to insult the player from time to time. Like leaving the smallest tip possible in a restaurant.
Do you get a colour chart?
This means I was right and Hitler is still alive and living in a robotic body. That'll show the staff at the bookmakers for laughing at me. All I can say now is "I warned you, would you listen, NO."
You start off with exactly the same whatever the map size. And you have to research engines and life support to increase speed and range. Your assumption is correct, Map size does radically change the game. The larger maps do give you more time to grow especially with few opponents, fast engines are needed to have any meaningful interactions
That seems rather excessive to me. I have no problems running tax at about 50% and I try to keep my morale at or just above 45%. Below that figure and the numbers actually turn red, so it's a convenient target for me. The problem with this is you'll not get much population growth and this will be crucial when you start invading planets, Dead citizens don't pay tax and that extra planet costs money to run also. I think this is one of the reasons why m
SM LZ 3-1 This means a ship with a small hull, that has lazer weapons with an attack of 3 and a defense of 1. Same here, But I also include the speed and what type of ship. W12 b5-4 p4-3 = Warship speed 12 with beam and particle weapons/Defense I also include other info on different types of ship, i.e, sensors, capacity etc. This way I know what each ships capabilities are straight away.
Nice find ed. It would be good to know how things have progressed and if you've gotten the interest you deserve for this awesome game. Even if it's just to wipe Starforces nose in it and make them eat Stardocks dust. I hope now with the great reviews for GA that have been appearing everywhere that things will be good for some time to come.
DA isn't even dry yet and you're talking about another expansion. You guys really are keen.
Look on the bright side, When you're single you'll have even more time to play. And you'll have loads of extra cash to spend on a state of the art desktop. Not to mention you can move the fridge into the living room and have cold tins on tap. and just bring in the wheelie bin as well for all the takeaway boxes. Life couldn't be sweeter.
