Ya, well... Did you know that John Locke was a very influential person from the 17th century? In fact, many of his ideas had a direct influence on the wording of the U.S.'s Declaration of Independence (Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness - things like that), and the Constitution (the separation of governmental powers, for example). Thomas Jefferson considered him to be one of the three greatest men that ever lived. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jo

With the Borg's ability to infiltrate/assimilate both organic and machine structures, I would go with the Borg. They could simply reprogram the replicators with a smart virus. Hey, if SG personnel can reprogram them, the Borg should certainly be able to.
That happens sometimes, ever since version 1.0. It is so random an occurrence I doubt it will ever be fixed. You also have a previous auto saved game (a backup of the auto-saved game when the program auto-saves), so you can go back to that (if you haven't played so long as to overwrite it with the bugged auto-save. If not, you are out of luck with this game. There is no way you could ever dig yourself out of that hole, well, bottomless pit. You should also manually sav
One thing to consider... I have found that if I set research to 0%, a crash is likely. So I never set it below 1%. The same might be true for the other sliders.
Reduce taxes. Build entertainment. Build (and upgrade) influence starbases near those planets with low approval. Obtain and mine the yellow resources. Keep population at a reasonable level relative to the planet quality.
The simplest mods are just changing values in the various .xml files. (always make a backup of the original files and learn how to use the mod folders, or you will end up needing to reinstall the game each time you hose something) The total conversion mods are much more difficult. You can replace the images and movies, even the ships if you have skill at 3D modeling and the correct programs. There are modding guides that will walk you through some of it. Read so
If you watch your graphs you will see the AI focus everything on research from time to time. Same goes for industrial production. You could do the same thing, and achieve the same result. The thing is, we human players tend to set our sliders and then forget about it for a long while. But the AI sometimes will change those settings every turn or two, depending on what they want in the near term. Try it sometime. Set both production and research values to
Insurance of any sort is simply another form of gambling. Well, unless you use it so much that it is simply a form of gaming the system. You place your bet by paying a little now in the hopes of reaping a lot later. Or, you pay a little, but use it so often that the payee will never even break even. Not that several hundred dollars per month is 'a little'. What would happen if you invested that same money each month? Would
I only use colony ships for fighting battles. I just love to hear the screams of all those stupid colonists. Fleet them up, add some sound recorders, a few vidcams, and you have a very entertaining movie.
I had forum go boom several hours ago. It was the first in at least a month.
Just curious, why are running the game at 1024 x 768 when your native resolution is 1680 x 1050? Not only is it well below the res you should be running, it is also a different aspect ratio. That has been known to cause problems - sometimes major and random problems - with many video drivers. You should set the game to run at 1680 x 1050. You will find it a more pleasing resolution for the game, and it might even fix some of your problems.
You have made two threads about this, yet in neither are you clear as to what you want to do. Why not just continue your original thread, instead of making a new one? Anyway, you use a ship with a constructor module to create a station. It can be an influence station, an economic station or a military station. Then you can send additional constructors to upgrade the starbase with modules that you have gained through researching certain techs. If that does not answer yo
But then, you are not 13 years old, are you. I think mine would be something like... Life, The Ultimate Futility.
Let's get all hot and bothered by this. Let's start a movement. Let us devote our life to stopping this madness. Where will it end? Next thing you know, they will want to make fire hydrants prettier. They will want to dictate color matching of eye makeup to stop signs. They will want all of us to wear a flower in our hair. Madness. Insane madness! And, I tell you, if 'they' dictate that I wear a flowe
Everyone can agree on getting rid of that infernal sun, right? The damned thing is baking us to death the last few weeks.
Not really. We here in sunny southern California have been enjoying (or not, depending on your point of view) the nearest coolest summer on record. It has been very pleasant. A very few very warm days, a little more rain than usual. But overall it has seemed more like spring or fall than summer. All things balance out,
Going back to a previous save to correct this problem will unfortunately set me back a year or two in game time.
Maybe you should save more often? And, just curious, how can the Altarians accidentally attack you? And, how are you so sure it was an accident? In fact, how can anyone attack another ship by accident, except to send a ship to an occupied space that is covered by the fog in which another ship is located? And even then, you get
But that won't change for the better. The lower income people will still get government assistance. In fact, probably even more people will qualify now, which will simply increase the taxpayer burden all the more.
That would be great if everyone had high paying job and no bills. Unfortunately the cost of living is so close to what people make now that saving that type of money is not possible for a lot of people. Of course I don't see how anyone will be able to put away enough money for say... cancer treatment... cause you know everyone has the ability to have hundreds of thousands of dollars put away for that.
So my inability to make enough money to pay for any and every m
-RAISTLIN- Not to mention the fact that 1.5% of your/everyone's income to pay for health care can not even come close to paying the bill, especially in late life or in the case of a serious injury or illness. If you are netting $50,000 per year you would only be paying $62.50 per month, or $750 per year. So in 60 years (assuming that income) you would have paid in to the system only $45,000. That would account for maybe 2 visits to the doctor per year - barring any spe
Make sure the shortcut is to the actual game .exe, and not to the launcher.
It is a plain text file, and you can open it with Notepad or any text editor.
I only have GalCiv2 DL, and mine is in 'My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2'. Each expansion of the game has it in its own folder. You could do a search in your C: (assuming the default install location) for 'debug.err', then select the correct one for your current game.
Don't go back? It could be resetting when you go back to that screen, but will play correctly if you just go through and start your game. One way to check. Make your selections and start a new game. Then save the game and check the debug.err info.
You should post your debug.err info, just after it crashes. You can open the file with Notepad, then (select all) copy and paste into the reply box. The file is usually located in My Documents\My Games\Galciv2.
A component with a size mod above 1 will require more space on larger hulls. So, for example, a size mod of 2 would take up 1 space slot on a tiny or small hull - but it would take 2 space slots on a medium hull and 3 on a large hull. As the hull size increases, so does the space requirement.
