I had the luck bonus as part of my race ability bonuses, and I just started a new game and only my home planet had any bonus tiles. I colonized at least a dozen planets, and none of them had bonus tiles.
stykman22
I was able to start the game with planet tile bonuses, but it did seem like there were less than in DL, and even less than that of the more potent bonuses.
Is it only available today online, or is it also in stores today in the box?
Okee dokee. I did notice that Space Marines are now Stellar Marines, and the update also included new multimedia and tutorials. Beyond those, the rest of the changes are probably transparent, I suppose.
Do you guys have a list of the changes that take place in the update somewhere? I seem to recall you saying that it would be 1.40X from now on, but now it's 1.50, so I assume there were a significant enough number of changes to warrant a new version number.
Chicago is up to a balmy 8ºF (-13ºC) with snow. The snow warmed us up from -2 this morning. But it's ok...it's a DRY cold.
If you think about it, what type of special weapon would a neutral civ have? Most likely none, since they are neutral. They would just use the stock weapons. I just wish there were a governor to upgrade all of your invention matrices to neutrality learning centers at the same time.
And now we know why cell phones were invented...so you could call ahead to see if the game you really want is in stock.
extra patchy goodness Sounds like something you would find in pirate cookies.
"womyn" or "stykman." I don't get it. You mean that's NOT how you spell those words??
In about 95% of the games I play, the Korx are one of the first two civs to be conquered, so, yes, they do suck!
While you're at it, could you please fix the word, "Psyonic", or was that intentional? It's really annoying for us weirdos who have spelling obsessions.
It was the last 1.3 version before the 1.4X update. I just played a 1.4 game, and I too did not receive any surrender events at all. Suddenly, the Korx were gone and the Terrans had a bunch of new planets. That made it take twice as long to conquer them.
I was playing a game recently, and got to where the only races left were myself, the Torians, Altarians and Drath. Suddenly, the Torians declare war on the Fundamentalists, but there was never an event declaring the formation of the Fundamentalists. Are they always there now, and are only used during periods of war inactivity? What's with the Fundamentalists suddenly appearing out of nowhere?
Researching higher levels of government also increases morale. Galactic stock exchages used to increase morale, too, but I don't know if that still holds true. I think many of the societal or governmental improvements carry morale bonuses with them, and they should, as they would better the society.
I've tried it and found that the research and combat screens are both high quality and innovative, though I found the controls on the combat screen a little clumsy. The game screen, however, was a bit cheesy in my opinion, almost an afterthought. Also, the AI voices really got on my nerves after a short time. As someone else said, it's a game with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, a lot of it is unrealized.
I will send an e-mail with my debug.err, but I still can't see planet names during the colonization period. The background of the planet's information box is the same color as the text.
Funny...I seem to recall Species 8472 kicking the crap out of the Borg, and remaining on friendly terms with the Federation. I guess that's also a moot point. Nice pictures, though.
And now the AI overcompensates by not building any factories and plastering econ buildings on nearly every tile. I don't think they are happy with less than 10 econs per planet any more, and it is rare to find more than 1-2 factories even on high PQ planets. Some have none at all. Actually, I've seen the opposite of this. The Iconians surrendere
I have discovered what might be a bug. When colonizing a planet, and the planet name window pops up, the planet name cannot be seen because it is showing white text with a white background. I have not changed any of the interface settings. Below is the debug.err, though I don't think it will help much. Debug Message: Version v1.3 beta 3X last updated on: Wed Aug 30 19:23:43 2006 Debug Message: GalCiv2 is activated. Debug Message: Checking DX Version. Debug Message: **
Ah, well that makes sense, then. Thanks.
Why do my smart exception reports keep getting bounced back to me? The program automatically sends them to [email protected]. Has that changed?
