Think the first game I played on a computer (some type of Apple II) was Castle Wolfenstein.
Rats! Thought I'd be the first person to mention Castle Wolfenstein on the Apple II+ (plus). We used to sneak playing it in our high school's computer lab, along with Sea Dragon and a few others I can't remember. If you got caught playing games in the lab, you'd be banned for a week. The lab computers had a word processor called Wordstar on

In the last two games I've played, the Korx surrendered to an attack by the Drath within about 10 weeks or so of war being declared. It worked out for me, because I was the one to whom they surrendered. However, as you know, when they do surrender, all their ships go pirate. Both times there were at LEAST 50 pirate ships left behind. Who surrenders with over 50 ships left??

I love HW2. C&C Generals and HW 2 were the first two games I purchased for my computer when I bought it in 2004. That is, the first two games I purchased that were professionally done, and not through Real Games or something like that. HW2 had the graphics and sound effects that I craved at the time, and Generals had very entertaining game play. I spent a lot of sleepless nights with those two games. I still feel that the artwork for HW2 has yet to find its e

I don't know if you guys noticed this or not, but it's been my impression that the Korx are a bunch of Sallies. They don't expand very aggressively, and they are almost always the first to resign in my games. In the words of Roman Moroni, "They are miserable Korx-suckers".
I honestly wonder why Stardock actually bother being so player-friendly sometimes, it seems they get nothing but grief for it. Release a series of great games with no copy protection, no cd requirement and no DRM? We'll moan about the delivery system! Release a free update which you don't have to but work on for hours and at cost in order to say thanks to customers - never fear, they'll complain that you didn't put in certain ship designs!
They do it because they realiz
I know of no companies which try to do journals and keep players informed as much as stardock ...
Try working in an accounting department sometime. We have daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual reporting processes. I think the OP's point was, to quote Dr. Evil, "Throw us a frickin' bone here", no matter how small it may be.
perhaps submerge the whole system in liquid nitrogen.
Nah...I figure you could just hook it up to a few dozen fan boat engines with a freon feed and you'll be fine. You'll generate about 7,500,000 btu of cold air, but the polar ice caps are melting anyway, so you'll be helping the environment...while burning a train load of fuel and freon, that is.
very rarely is it worthwhile to build a farm on the +300% tile
Not true. When I get a planet with one (or sometimes more) of these tiles, I throw in a couple of factories and start churning out transports. With the Recruitment Center and Fertility Clinics (or whatever they are called), you can refill the population in no time.
Also, I haven't really looked at how "escorted" ships like troop transports would be handled. Having them flee the battle while everyone else fights would cause its own problems, but keeping them in the battle would mean they'd be vulnerable to a chance flyby... my guess is that the best thing to do is simply to keep them in the fray and let them potentially be destroyed. However, this is something to experiment with.
Troop transports in the real world are both moderately
