With enough morale, i've managed to get up to 96% nefore hitting the 1% morale mark.

you might also want to update your sound driver, they sometimes cause problems.
you've mulitposted the same thign 3 times. It think that's a record. Try to give us ALL of the debug.err, including the system info. ALso, it may be because you're running at 1200x740. I read somewhere that you can play at any resolution as long as one of the numbers isn't below 768. Try running it at 1024x768. You could also try to run it in a window. Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\Prefs.ini" and change [Video] DisplayWidth=1024 Display
My suggestion: turn on snapback.
you should also try to update you sound card driver, as that can sometimes cause problems
Try to type legibly. It doesn't have to be perfect, but try to make it so the people who are trying to help you can actually read it. I'm surprised you can play Half-Life 2 on that. That computer looks like it's about 4 years-old since you're still running a Pentium 3. Try turning off your antivirus and firewall as well. You can also try to run it in window mode, that could help.
it's to make sure low-end computers can play the game
play the TUTORIAL in full screen. There's a little box under the video to make the video fullscreen.
I agree that they shouldn't have deleted the score. Howvere, they are in the process of fixing it now and the yshould have just changed your score to whatever it would be under the new scoring system.
I'd leave the frame throttle on. I believe it keeps your framerate from going to high and crashing the game due to video card overheating.
I don't have this problem. Lucky me 'cause i'm playing on a 4 year-old laptop with 3 year old dirvers (blame hp and their lack of support for older models) and the game has only crashed once. I'd build my own computer. I could probably save a grand by buying from tigerdirect and newegg and buy myself a next-gen system. <img src="http://images.sta
i don't think military affects influence. Try colonizing more and builing starbases as that spreads you borders.
nvm, the guy before me just said it.
i was talking about the mining base.
@quitch: that'd be cool. @wade: % or so planets per sytem is good. I don't want this game to turn into MOO3, which i found insanely complex and hard to play. Keep it simple so you won't have to spend 3 hours figuring out how to play. Plus, with twice the number of planets per system and many, many more syestems in a game, micromanagement would be a pain in the ---.
You should note that Military starbases ASSIST your attack and defense. You need at least 1 point in of attack/defense in whatever the module assists. Example Module gives +3 to laser, mass driver and missile attack. Ship has a base 3 laser attack, 1 mass driver attack, and no missile attack Ship would get 6 laser, 4 mass driver, and 0 missile after applying bonuses. Also, small ships die easily, so it's hard to lev
Because they didn't put in multiplayer: 1) The game came out earler at its present quality. WIth multiplayer, it'd either come out later, or at a lower quality 2) It's $40. WIth multiplayer, it would most likely be $50. Some hotseat woudl have nice though.
if you're gonna get something as old as a fx5200, you migh tas well save up another $50 and get a betetr card.
What does the military resource starbase increase? ship hp? ship defenses and attack? soldiering?
i've posted about this before. the "officia" stardock response is that this happens because of tech trading. If you want to test this, turn off tech trading and try it out.
change logs are in the "Journal" link. You can't miss them 'cause they're INCREDIBLY long (doesn't help that stardock double spaces)
i agree with gallagher. I usually prioritize PQ improvements fairly low and usually don't get habitat improvement till midgame.
That wouldn't be such a good idea. You'd punish people going for a research or influence victory, esp. on harder diffculties. They're fixing up the scoring now, so its not an issue anymore.
No, what he meant was that every single turn the AI would be a little smarter or stupider. If 10 was smartest and 1 was stupidest, and you chose a diffculty of say 7, the AI would be anywhere from 6-8 every turn. Get it? THis doesn't really work though. Why? THere are only 3 core AIs. ALl the otehr difficulty and "AI" levels come from changes in thh economy. It's all in the manual.
I'm gonna stic kmy neck out and make a suggestion. If it's completely undoable/stupid/retarded/ignorantwhatever, don't bite my virtual head off. Perhaps you could elect a UP leader? the leader would get soem bonuses, like being able to veto a bill, 1 or 2 extra trade routes, being able to call a UP meeting, etc. It'd make the UP a bit more useful. AND also, the UP should meet more often, maybe every 3 months or so? Unless the uselessness of
