I'd like to know if there'll be a retail bundle with Galciv II and both expansions when TA comes out. I did a short search, but it seemed like this question hasn't been asked before. If this question has been asked before, please forgive me for being a bad searcher.

Your video card is probably the thing.
I just read the EULA. This was in the ["No-No Section"] 2. [You may not]Sublicense, rent, lease or transfer your personal serial number without express written consent from Stardock. So my opinion (Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer nor have I ever studied law) is that Stardock has no obligagation to provide second hand buyers with a new serial unless they have already given consent to the seller to sell their liscense.
The only feature i want is a retail release.
Me likey. I lik this UI much more than the original one.
Low morale = low population growth. So they may not defect, but it'll take you eternity to fill up the planet.
I thought the next version would be 1.2. And i remember Brad posting that after 1.1, they wouldn't put up as many betas.
Memory usage/performance improvements. Lots of DirectX-techno stuff that as a non-DirectX guy I can't explain but memory use is noticeably less and performance on lower end systems should be significantly even better thanks to new techniques. HALLELUJAH! No more 5 minute loading and saving times on a small map! As they say, "w00t!" <img src="
Yep Pudding's right. TOugh is the hardest non-cheat level. I'm pretty sure the map's aren't biased towards the comp. Luck of the draw perhaps?
I'm pretty sure if you hit Ctrl-N during a metaverse game, the new map doesn't count towards metaverse. I read it on one of the stickies. It may have been a bug, so it may be different now.
If it's digital purchase, i hope you support a wide range of payment options, like money order, check, paypal, etc. Not everyone (like me) can get their greedy little hands on a credit card.
I guess they'd basically be like a minor race, but instead of a planet, they should get no planets and a few ships, includign a trop transport or two. It'd be nice to see them carve out there own empire.
And, if your money goes into a negative amount all research and production will stop until it is positive again. I'm pretty sure that's only below a certain amount, like 2000 bc.
Try turning off any programs you have in the background, like AIM, MSN, AV, FW, etc. Defraf your ard drive perhaps? And if nothing workes, just play on a smaller map.
Awesome. Now to beg my parents to buy one for me with their credit card.
Cloaking ships, sure. But planets? No way.
Jeez, do you think we need 5 topics in a row about the gamespy review? I don't think so.
Better yet, just disable AV when you play a game. Disabling Firewall is a good idea too. Just make sure you reactivate it when you connect to the internet or finish playing the game.
Try playing in widnowed mode. You could also reduce your resolution to 1024x768.
I still think a 1.1 for the demo would be a good idea. Stardock could even use it as a before and after thing. "Look at the release version, pretty good, would still room for improvement. Look ta version 1.1, the first major patch. People will see the huge difference and improvements."
It's not a retail game. even though it may seem so, EA, Ubisoft, and Stardock don't own the game business. I can understand the temptation to crack a game you can't get, but don't. It's stealing. Get a friend to buy it for you and pay the back. And i you aren't in the US, you can buy the game with paypal, you won't need anything more than an email address and someone to give you paypal funds. <br/
Play on a lower difficulty setting. Sub-normal is good for the first few games. After about 5 games or so, you should be good enough to play normal. Play on a easier level just to get a hang of the game mechanics.
I like this. It gives you some nice play styles. If you reduce your colony rush, you'll dominate eraly game because of your massive economy, but later on you'll be stuck with only a few planets. Of course, this is less of an issue in Gigantic size maps, since there are so many planets.
Yay! Now it's ALMOST liek i'm using Mac. Now if only Stardock could make Windows more stable...
