Transfering the posts made in the former 1.5 thread to this one: Winter (aka. W.i.n.t.e.r) is back... Yep, been trying to get more info on these as well- yet it seems it is a one-of-a-kind pic- or at least I haven't been very successful at getting any news on it. The only thing I can tell u is that it is a render of a famous portrait of Fleet Admiral Marquis Tōgō Heihachirō, aka. Admiral Togo, hero of the Russo-Japanese War
ON RACES and GENOCYDE -------------------------------- - A) Planetary Invasions - stop the "eat thy neighbour" gameplay So far the invasion system has evaded this issue by having a simple rule as standard: There is no trained army but one simply loads ones' populace onto freighters and goes invading. Follows that every Planet is considered as conquered once its native population (which also fights in its totali
I second the starport upgrade idea (after all- it was planend to have several upgrades of it prior to release: The Graphics are in the Game Folders yet aren't used)

Winter is back... So here goes the 1st I made with the DA engine: I started off wanting to make a huge-sized colony ship- well it has always bothered me that 5 billion people travel one way and fit easy-peasy in a medium sized freighter: If it colonizing of new worlds the ship should be [h u g e]. So I grabbed that huge cube hull model and wrapped a ship around it. When the main hull was done I got to thinking that making a colony ship wasn't really worth the effort I was pla
Yes, I have seen this mentioned before- but don't ask where I think its a minor, yet nice additon. THose who have played Master of Orion 2 should remember the childlike joy when a new hero would know on your door- err- planet. -Planet Heroes would grant special boni (no, its not bonuses ) to production or
Weird, my games always feature an effect that has the weakest power of the moment being entirely destroyed. Then the galaxy returns to a short peace and then the next weakest power is targeted. Usualy by the entire galaxy. Then again I don't play as high as Maso. In my latest game I started out with 10 enemies- of which only 3 are left... and I happen to be number 4 in the rankings of power soooo,
It neither bad nor good- its more a "despite of" kinda luck thing
Yep, did that, but u gotta make sure the AI gets the categories as well. tiny, medium, big, large huge worked nicely. A "colossus" should be something special, IMO- perhaps as a single vessel per civ? What is a bit sad is that the largest vessel is scaled at huge size: I.e. on the map there won't be any ships displayed larges than at huge scale
Most drengin hulls are also off - by a LOT - becomes notable when you use Kyro's mod and use whatever drengin hull as jewelry: The main hardpoint is to one side (and several hardpoints on other hulls are a bit conflictive as well)
You actualy fight battles together with your base(s) if you place your fleet on the same tile. No need to form a fleet: If there are logistic points left the starbase will be in the same battle with your fleet- just check the battleview options to always see the battles and you will see... all installed starbase modules will be in battle alongside... By the way - The dictionary definition of logistics is: "The time related positioning of resources." However your starbases don't really s
Thank you Hillslam, you are not so bad yourself Your Texas has a very 'Starblazers' / 'Yamato' feel to it and with the mix of straight cut and rounded shapes, seems to be the logical amalgamative conclusion of the smaller cruiser designs. My personal favourite is your Suffolk Class, with the sturdy design and its prominent rear plating. <img src="http://www.shipschematics.net/yamato/images/edf/ba
yup, such a hypothetical module should project its bonus points from the Flagship onto the other ships as well (i.e. range). Perhaps in some later incarnation of the game..
Birth of the Federation had it, and if I remember correctly, the Master of Orion series also had orbital blockades... There you had the options of attacking the planet, bombarding the planet from the orbit, invading the planet- and to pray on the opponent's trade fleet (aka. blockade). There was a calculator establishing you chance of suffessful blockade, based on particulary planetary trade (you would thwart a percentage (%) of total planetary trade/turn) and the set up of your bl
Well, so far I have never seen any lights ever on random planets (except on those planets that have their own night texture provided). That's why I asked twice
honestly: I'd take the Gal. Privateer out of the game- the idea is nice, but in practice its not really working the way intended...
The planet city lights have been improved for version 1.3. The latest beta includes this improvement. You will be able to notice more lights if you turn down your Ambient Light setting in the Options screen. Does this also work with custom png textures? Or does it require a particular format to show up- i.e. certain alpha channels? <img

How does one implement planetary night views and clouds (i.e. the shadow side and cloud overlay, respectively) ???
