Kryo's mod works fine. Incompatable with Metaverse games, but if you don't play them, then no worries. Part of Kryo's mod functionality might appear in a patch (being able to build a ship entirely out of jewelery), but being able to use pre-existing hulls as jewelery is unlikely to be added, as the hulls are more resource intensive, and using lots of hulls on a ship might be very harsh on slower computers.

I like how Brad says "supposed to"... Gives me the feeling he doesn't know any more than the rest of us.
I'd love mega events, if the AI responded to them. I'd hate to see a race start getting +1% to all stats a turn, only to have to kill that race without any help from anyone else.
Perhaps limit trades to one per turn, or if your trade is declined, you cannot offer another for two turns?
In tactical the wormhole anomalies are a yellowish color. Or, it used to be...
You could scrap shipping and handling if you don't *need* a CD... I had no problems getting my game through SDC.
Right. With high soldiering means less troops to take a planet, meaning smaller and cheaper ships. I use strictly tiny-hulled invasion craft. Advanced Troop Mod and some engines. One per planet. If I need more troops, information warfare. Soldiering is awesome.
I've noticed on occasion some of my transports getting 1 defense in all categories. I think when orbiting a planet. I'm not sure why, but I presume this is what you're seeing...
AngleWyrm brings up a good point. It's just as easy to keep about 25 billion people happy as it is to keep 100 billion. It'll take 6-8 VR centers, and other morale goodies... but then again, having a 70 billion population planet is useful for war. (Either for capturing planets, repopulating captured planets, or boosting garrisons of planets that are hit.) Ofcourse the taxes don't hurt either.
Why do Flagships and all that always have to be simply massive? I for one would like to choose the size of my flagship.
I'm pretty sure it's been functioning (somewhat) since 1.2. As I understood, it was coded in 1.1 but not utilized until 1.2.
They run on biodiesel. Yor farms just grow corn to turn into ethanol.
There's four trade goods that increase morale. Frictionless Clothing (Influence tree), Ultra Spices and Virtual Reality Modules (Morale tree), and Harmony Crystals (Ethics tree). I've gotten up to 79% taxes with a 97% approval, had a couple of high-pop planets that were somewhat unhappy.
Bugspray. Lots and lots of bugspray. Damn space cockroaches. Either turn the Torians off, turn the Altarians and Iconians off (Torians are good, deprive them of their good allies and life will be hard for them), or use diplomacy to make life hard for the Torians. I suppose you could rush up to Space Weapons and attack the Torians while they are still colonizing. This could buy time for other civs to snatch up planets the Torians otherwise would have taken, but it puts you i
This exploit doesn't work on the higher difficulty levels. The auto-set to -2000 BC was a design feature to prevent you from accidentally going too far into debt and ruining your empire. I know at tough (and probably some easier than tough) this "feature" is turned off.
Bryam, you can disable *TECHNOLOGY* trading. *NOT* ship trading, planet trading, or any other type of trading. Just *TECHNOLOGY* trading. I never play the game with tech trading on. Prolifico, have you considered creating an "Export" variant of your vessels that you intend to give away? Makes them easier to find. Going back on topic: I'd love carriers. Blah, blah, etc.
Want a cookie, make you feel better? You could atleast bother to tell us what you dislike about the game...
No one has commentted on how this would still keep exsisting hulls usefull other then it have an enormous upkeep. How would adding carriers reduce the effectiveness of existing hulls? Tiny hulls still only have 6 HP...
Stargates move ships at 1 PC/wk.
You panic, check your treasury to see if Enron didn't take your money, then check your fleets to see if Al Qeada didn't blow them up, then check your fleets again to see if the government didn't try and repo them from the military, then check your race "flag" to see if it didn't change to a picture of G.W. Bush's face since he would love to put his mug shot on the Am
Have their skin peeled and eaten!
I have *never* seen a minor race use the vessels I give them. Recently, I broke up a fleet of 8 ships, put them surrounding a minor race's homeworld, gifted them all. Atleast I used up one of the Torian's move points when they had to attack the ring around the planet. This was in 1.2, by the way.
If your original game was verison 1.0(ish), then any ships you designed will not be saved in 1.2 Ships designed in 1.1 (and I think some patches before that) will be saved, but all 1.0 designs are lost when patching.
Rthor: Non-type defense offers square root protection. 9 shields is the same as 3 armor against a mass driver weapon. This is stated in the manual. Somewhere. I think.
Turn the difficulty up to Tough!
